First off, losing to Fordham, a team with 0 A-10 wins is inexcusable.
Second, all these reactionary threads that are saying Fire Schmidt and blame the coaching, while everyone is complaining about the amount of playing time the Nicholson and Grease had in the second half, the giant run that the team compiled to take the lead was without those two in the lineup. When a certain lineup on the floor is clicking, you don't change the chemistry on the floor. If Schmidt had changed the chemistry on the floor and abruptly ended the run, that we would have 45 reactionary threads talking about that.
A terrible job of getting back on defense causing a wide open lay-up (not to mention the 2 others that Fontan had because of this) and then the tying lay-up missing were not two coaching blunders that essentially cost us the game.
Before we get on the this board chanting fire Schmidt, I think people should consider waiting an hour or two after the game before posting. I'd hate to see the credibility of this board suffer anymore.

This loss keeps Schmidt at Bonas for a few more years.. if we made it to the NIT this year we might lose him to a bigger progam sooner than later.

Why is everyone so surprised? D-I basketball is dominated by excellence at the point guard position and our current point guard is woefully out of his element. The kid can't play. Where is the clown who called out Blackburn a few weeks ago for taking inoportune T's, even though we were 10-4 at the time? Hey, do you think we could have used Blackburn tonight? I don't think he would have went scoreless. And lay off Schmidt. Our talent is simply not there. We still have too many players who are logging important minutes who are not D-1 players. Give him time to recruit.

NIT? This team was heading to the dance.
I just read that Jay Bilas has listed the RC as one of the top 5 easiest places to play in the country.

I see your point, but it was the 2-3 zone that got us back in the game. If you want to give Andrew & Thomas a quick blow, fine, give them a couple/few minutes. However, both Andrew & Maurice know how to play zone defense. If he had inserted our starting big men, both of whom were having dominant games through the first 30 minutes, and we lost with them, fine. I'll tip may hat to Fordham. That didn't happen. Fordham beat us with our horses on the bench, and for that Schmidt comes out looking like a jackass.
