1. Win
2. Allow the students to have the entire side opposite the benches. People like to complain about the students not coming to the games, but the casual fan is not going to come and have to stand on the end where they can't see anything. The people that are buying those tickets in the section opposite the Bonnies bench could sit in the always half empty reds. This would also prevent the Blackburn posse from yelling at Schmidt at half time.
3. Get rid of the band. If Bonas can't have their own band don't have any. Just play music in the time outs etc. Cheerleaders get the fans into the game. (If #1 happens it would be a lot easier)
4. The promotion effort needs to be there. There is a lot more competition for the students attention then there used to be. It is not 1980 with three stations to watch. If students are sports fans they can watch a lot better basketball on TV. If they are not fans there are a million other things to get their attention. You have to sell it to the students. (#1 helps greatly)
These are just some ideas I am sure there are many more.

They should start by pulling out the student section of bleachers to their full length. There is about 2-3 rows usually not pulled out in the student section.

They should start by pulling out the student section of bleachers to their full length. There is about 2-3 rows usually not pulled out in the student section. Not sure what that will improve....maybe 2 more empty rows? And although it's not the students fault, the construction was very poor with the new bleachers so if those rows are pulled out, the fans in the first 3-4 rows of reds behind the students can't see the court. In fact, if you sit in those seats now, it's difficult to see all the action even with the limited student attendance.

for years I have been calling for the floor seating to be relatively exclusive to students, just like the old days. does that me that a young clubhouse or joe six pack can't sit there? no, but I absolutely would not have reserved seats for the geriatric zombies from the reds

You tell him! I don't know why someone who pays for a couple of tickets in the reds should think he has any right to be able to see the game. Especially those rube townies who have paid to go to 400 or more games over the years. How dare they!
Look, until you can get enough students to fill the bleachers with the top row(s) pushed in, I don't see how this can even be an issue.

njbona02 is just a rumpshaker that doesn't understand the importance of the community. It's a partnership between the university and the students. For the program to improve, support is needed from both. Without the students, there wouldn't be a program. Without the locals, there wouldn't be a d-1 program. The local provide a lot of money in tickets, donations, concessions, corporate sponsorships. Both sides bring a lot to the table and both sides have a lot of areas to improve if the RC is to get off of Jay Bilas' most recent list of top 5 easiest places to play.

Jay Bilas came to the RC once on an Italian touring team in the late 80's. I heard him comment about the treatment he received a few years ago

I am currently a student at Bonas and have gone to games here since I was 4. The talk about the bleachers is right on. I remember being in middle school and things were crazy then. Toilet paper thrown on the first basket, and about twice as many students at games then there are now. The way I see things as a student now is that there is not enough space. I have friends who go sit in the reds for a better view. Those stupid corporate sponsor seats are a complete waste! There should be students behind the other team's bench. While we're at kick the band too, they get more laughs then anything else.
