Glad to see the optimism displayed in therc’s “Points Game” but surprised at the same time. I do remember that AOX… predicted an 18 point Dukes win at the RC but a win for the Bonnies on the road. He missed his prediction by just one point so it would be great if the 2nd leg of his prediction comes true.
It will be an enormous challenge keeping this high scoring team down to a level where we can succeed. They are second in scoring in the A10 averaging 80ppg. Just a few weeks ago at the RC they nearly hit the century mark cruising to an easy win. Like Fordham they fire up lots of treys. Unlike Fordham they make them, averaging 9 a game which is best in the conference.
Once again we will see a great PG in Jackson who is good for nearly 6 assists a game. Their scoring comes from lots of team assists, which has them ranked #8 nationally. Hopefully their many shots from beyond the arc won’t fall & we can gather in the long rebounds. Last time we played them they made 13 treys which accounted for 40% of their scoring.
Team confidence must be fragile after the Fordham loss. Playing the Dukes is not the tonic for anyone struggling taking care of the ball. Our 19 TOs last time playing them may be exceeded if we make unforced TOs like I saw against the Rams. I hope some confidence can be restored with solid play. Go Bonnies!

I'm hoping the second leg of my prediction does not come true tonight. So I revised it with an 81-80 Dukes win on the points game thread. I'm hoping the Dukes pull it out on a buzzer beater. Rarely does one school sweep the other when we play twice in the same year. It really doesn't matter much what the teams' records are, sweeps are rare. The Bonnies were the last to win 2 games in the same season back in 2000. Andrew Nicholson scares me tonight. He was very effective in the second half in Olean and I look for him to play well tonight. The Dukes 3 point shooting has been hot lately; if it cools off tonight we could be in big trouble. Hopefully having a week off has allowed Aaron Jackson to fully recover from his bruised tailbone. He has been at less than 100% for the past 2 weeks. My feeling about the Bonnies team confidence is that they'll come into the game focused and pi$$ed off after their loss to the Rams. If they can come out of the gate strong they just may put the Dukes back on their heels and cruise to an easy victory. But the Dukes really need this game as well if they are to take another step forward as a program. So I think what we'll see is a back and forth battle be decided in the last minute. I just hope the Dukes prevail so I can go to sleep happy in anticipation of the Steelers' 6th Stupor Bowl championship tomorrow.

I'd like to but truckin' up to Buffalo on a Tuesday night just doesn't work anymore. Not when work calls on Wednesday morning. If Jerry was still alive it might be different. I have heard that Phil is hanging it up after this tour.

AOXO......Thanks for your confidence in the Bonnies to make this a "buzzer beater" game. What scares me, is that your very young Dukes are actually playing better in conference play scoring a whopping 86 ppg. No wonder you are off to the best overall record & conference start since 80-81. Teams can’t just stop one or two of your guys with 5 in double figures & a 6th at 9.8ppg. I do see that Jackson has not shot well the last two games. That also scares me because St Joe’s beat you by just 1 in OT & you handled Fordham with a 21 point win all while Jackson has shot very poorly. Don’t expect him to have a trio of poor shooting games. His assists are always a constant. After tonight, all the best to the Dukes down the stretch. With all the youth the future looks bright.
