I’ll be surprised if Jimmy Baron is not playing major minutes in spite of his strained back. With or without him, beating the 9-1 at home Rams will be quite a feat. They put up big numbers as indicated by their #2 scoring status of 80ppg. Their high scoring comes from shooting at an impressive .463 (2nd best in conference). However our Bonnies have responded well keeping good shooting teams well below their season averages. Hopefully we can do it tomorrow night but all is for naught if we continue to turn ourselves over. It is amazing how many TOs this season have resulted from unforced errors. It is mind boggling how the simplest of passes go unconnected time & time again.
Tough to compete, when you are last in the conference with a horrendous –6.67 TO Margin.
Hopefully Ray will be able to play some but I wouldn’t expect too much from him due to the layoff & uncertainty in his head about the knee holding up. That was the mental part of the game Coach referred to on Sunday.
The Rams second highest scorer, behind Barron, is Seawright who is good for 14.8ppg & 8 rebounds. Once again, Andrew will go up against a proficient inside scorer & #5 conference rebounder. I am looking for Andrew, Grease & Jon (might I add Eleby) out-rebounding the home team & making their comfort level at home challenged. This would be a great night for Matthews to show Jimmy why he is right behind him in made treys in conference play.
