I agree with lazer there is a lot to changing schedule times of games, most stuff people never consider that lazer brought up.
At this point this game is absolutely going to be played at 4.
That said they changed a temple/joes start time from 1 to 7 or 4 to 7 a month ago so that people could watch the Eagles NFC championship game. (needless to say Eagles lost thank god). But they did this only two days prior. Not to mention flex NFL games are changed as close to as a week before the game so lets not get crazy about the complexities of changing a Bona start time.

Charlotte arrived early this afternoon - I saw them leaving the Country Inn about 3:30, probably going across the street for a shoot-around.

I never once said anything about the teams worrying about a newspaper deadline, I simply included it in a litany of things that need to be factored into changing the time of a game this late. It's simply one other factor that goes into changing a gametime this late. What about the Buffalo News coming down? Think a 3-hour change to a game the day before won't affect them at all in terms of who's covering it or whether they can cover a sectional game first then come after, etc.? What about the PIG moving its schedule around ... there's probably some Nascar qualifying or truck race it needs to broadcast tomorrow at 7 - when they were planning on not having a Bonnies game to cover. They're just a few of a number of issues that have to be taken into consideration. I never once said OTH, either, and while I mentioned newspaper deadlines, it's a minute detail I probably should have just left out when I said it affects the media - and consequently how much coverage this "playoff" game gets in comparison to the high school "playoff" games. And considering there's constant bickering on this board all the time about how often the Buff News comes down, how we don't get on TV often enough, etc, it's something to seriously consider when you're thinking about changing the time of the game. I'd say after how it affects both team's schedules and how it impacts the attendance, it's the next most important issue to take on. Well said, particularly the last point about the Buffalo News and TV coverage. You'll have to pound a few for me, Lazer. While you're shouting your head off and watching us make it to the tournament, I'll be stuck in a car for 14 hours trekking back to western NY. Life just isn't fair sometimes.

You bring it on yourself, solo. Like, for example, you're currently stalking the Bandwagon and are available to talk via AIM and you're on spring break in South Carolina. You do the math for me please because I can't. But I will pound more than a few for you, starting tomorrow morning.

We're leaving early in the morning so no one's drinking tonight. If it was up to me, I'd just go AWOL and stay here. Maybe open a roller disco or something.

I agree, lets support the Brown Indians on Saturday. By the way, my last thread was to get Bonas some information so they can fill the seats for next year. One of my issues is that so many games this year have been when the students are on break. This must change. Room 109 made a good point (his only good point), win and people will come. Agreed!!!!!!
I hope next the schedule makers do a better job.

lazer, you really think the school should consult with the buffalo news to see if they can send a reporter to cover the game if it's changed to 7? Ha, have you seen the amount of coverage they give the Bonnies? Hate to say it but I bet the Buff News would give priority to the high school coverage regardless. While the Bonnies game is important to the university and it's fans, in reality its a game that will decide if they are among one of the top 12 of 14 teams. With as much local action taking place in Buffalo tomorrow, I don't think they are fretting about the Bonnies game to fill space in the paper.
While I realize it may cause complications with WPIG, but that is an after-thought. In fact, if people can't listen to the game maybe it might be enough to get them to attend the game. I realize there are elderly people who may not be able to afford to be physically capable of attending the game, but they are still fans. I'm not saying the game should be moved at their expense but no matter what the outcome, you can't make everyone happy, all of the time.

The problem is on Friday, you can't move a Saturday game and adaquately get the word out. Should have been done Tues-Thurs

I'd say after how it affects both team's schedules and how it impacts the attendance, it's the next most important issue to take on. No chance that someone from the BN would cover preps in Buffalo, then drive to Olean for a same-day Bonnies game whether it's at 4 or 7. More likely, Keith McShea will handle the entire BuffState slate from noon straight through deadline, with Mary Jo Monnin doing the same for the girls' games at ECC and someone else picking up the two games in Jamestown. (They'll miss Tom Borrelli even more than usual this weekend. R.I.P., sir.) Of the writers who normally cover SBU games, Rock McKissic, Amy Moritz, and Sully are all in Albany at the MAAC tourney. That probably leaves Bob DiCesare making the trip south again, but someone like Northrup or Wilson could fill in if necessary. Whoever gets that call would certainly grumble at a last-minute move, but I doubt they'd decide to cancel the trip. And I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone took my paper (not the News or OTH, if you were wondering) into consideration before changing a time/date. Heck, half the time it's a battle just to find out about the changes ...
