Someone from Athletics needs to get on the academic calendar committee. Are we the only %$#@! school in America that takes spring break at the end of February? Do you realize it’s the same deal next year? Someone told me today that break next year begins Feb. 27, so you’re likely going to have at least one more student-less home game.
Seriously? Students come back to school mid-January after missing 4 to 5 games, then get another week off six weeks later? Senior Day should be special again next year. As Charlie Brown would say, "AAARGHHHH!!"
With any luck, they'll wind up with two at the RC on the last Wednesday and Saturday of the league season. Start the petition now returning students.

Don't know how many were off this week, but I do know Holy Cross is. They even had a PL tournament game at home.

I always remember being off for the week of the conference tournaments, what happened to that?

I just took a quick look, and Duquesne, Dayton and Xavier are also off this week. So I guess it must be somewhat common.

Basketball is vital to this university but I would hardly say it is an "outrage" to have break at the end of February. Add Villanova to the list of schools that have break when we do.

It would be cool if the University made sure to plan it on the week of the conf. touny as b4life said before. I think a decent number of students would make the trip to AC during their spring break during years the Bonnies were in it, especially considering how many kids go to Bonas from the NYC area.

Agree with conference tourney thing, but I would be surprised if one person in whatever scheduling meeting was held actually thought of holding break in conjunction with the tourney. Would have loved that this year and would have definitely gone to AC. We're trying desperately to get to AC anyways if we make it but there are a ton of class obligations to work around which blows.
Niagara, John Carroll, and Mercyhurst also off.

Every school mentioned is Catholic, it has to have something to do with Lent or Easter. The one break I made the pilgrimage to Florida(83) we were one of the few schools left and it overlapped with Easter. Early April

When I was there, we had off for the the A-10 tourney week three times. We went to three A-10 tournies. Although, one was when we had off the week before and just ditched to go to in 2000.

It's to save on the heating bill. as much of a joke I bet you meant, I was a student 2004-2008 and ill be back in the fall for my mba, but anyway, on breaks they always had us turning our heat on full blast!!! (prolly to make sure pipes dont freeze or something..) it was always part of our "break checkout sheet" we had to check off and sign
