Many of the posters on this board said before this season that 12-15 and a trip to the A10 tourney was their idea of a successful season. Well there you have it folks! I can't say enough about how well Schmidt and the Bonnies have done this year.
I had this strange feeling as I watched the first half of tonight's game. It almost felt like I was watching the 2009-2010 Bonnies play. We saw some really great basketball being played. They were playing basketball by the book. While it was a rough second half, you couldn't have written a better way to end this season. It was punctuated with a Andrew Nicholson breakway jam in the last 2 seconds of the game.
Regardless of how they play in the tourney, I am pumped for next season. This team is going to be DANGEROUS!

Couldn't agree with you more, except I am pumped now for the A-10 tournament, then the recruiting season and then the 09-10' season. I know you are pumped for the A-10 tournament too!!! I think we might pull off a first round victory next week, never say never! This team is coming together, we have a superb coach and the chemistry appears to be solid now. Lets all enjoy the ride to Atlantic City and the cheer on the Bonnies. Its been way too long for all of us, let alone the team and the athletic department. Go Brown and White!

The Bonnies put 9 new players on the floor a couple of months ago. The same 9 are back next year with some decided improvements. As players learn to play together, the turnovers should decrease. The Atlantic 10 is a much improved Conference this year. It has been a long time since we were rated the 8th best Conference in Division I. Yet, the Bonnies moved up in the ranking. Congratulations to the Bonnies and their coach.

I personally feel Mark deserves a chance for A10 coach of the year. Based on the preseason projections and last years finish he has turned the program(baby steps) into one that is on the way up and will certainly get better. The first play of the game is indicative of his ability to prepare his team: a play set up for Malcolm to post up the little guard Harris. I applaud his year and look forward to the continues success of our program. Good luck in AC and make a little noise with a first round win!!! should

Lot of great points in this thread. Here are a couple more examples of success of this team:
1. This team had more wins than JVBK's last team. Prior to the news of the scandal JVBK's team was 13-14. Granted his team had a more difficult schedule, but it is still an amazing accomplishment of this year's team.
2. Agree with jmp, Schmidt has to be a candidate for A-10 Coach of the Year. Five seasons prior to Schmidt the Bonnies averaged 6 wins and this year Bonnies get 15 wins. This season was more like a broad jump than "baby steps." Like jmp I was expecting "baby steps" of 10-12 wins and could not imagine a winning record.
3. Like Frasier points out the long term future has a solid foundation. When was the last time we had all the players on the team finish the year? Also do not forget the 3 players sitting out (Lewis, Simmons and House) they made it through the season with the Bonnies.
4. Have to congratulate Tyler Benson for sticking with the Bonnies. In his last home game he scores 12 points sinking 4 huge 3's. Benson's attitude and all out hustle will be missed.
