Congratulations to the Bonnies on a winning season!
What a job Mark Schmidt is doing in Olean. To finish his second regular season as head coach with a winning record is amazing. I knew he had the team going in the right direction after last season but I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised by the pace of the progress. Especially after losing Morgan and Haley who were both expected to contribute this year. And with the way Andrew Nicholson, my own pick as A-10 rookie of the year, has played you have to expect the rapid improvement to continue. I'll expect the Bonnies to at least be in consideration for a post season bid somewhere next year.
As a Duquesne grad I am overjoyed with the Dukes surprising performance this year and to have my second favorite team do well also is icing on the cake. Which brings me to the subject of this thread - Friday the 13th. That's when I want to see the next installment of the Dukes-Bonnies rivalry. If that happens one of us is going to the A-10 finals, probably against Xavier. Wouldn't that get the attention of those folks who still haven't realized that the Dukes and the Bonnies are poised to become major players in this league for years to come.

My two favorite teams have certainly outperformed preseason expectations and appear poised to continue improving. Ajax was amazing this year, and the Dukes are on track to be a top tier A-10 team in the coming years. My Bonnies seem to be headed in the same direction with Nicholson potentially a future All A-10 1st. team selection, or dare I say, Player of the Year. Here's hoping for continued success for both the Dukes and the Bonnies, both near and long term. Credit goes to two of the best coaches in the league, and one of them ought to be coach of the year this year. Everhart deserves it, but Coach Schmidt sure has done a great job so far. Maybe the calls for both programs to be kicked out of the conference will cease now. Hard to call us out if we compete and/or beat them.
