Probably the best news is that the girls will get to hang a new HANDKERCHIEF on the wall of the RC. Hopefully it says WNIT Champs!

God does anything excite you people??? It isn't a matter of not being excited for the university, but some of these posts are jaw-dropping. No negative can be taken from the run Crowley's squad has made, but to suggest they're in the "national spotlight" or to call this the "WNIT Elite 8" is pushing it. There is only one Elite 8, and it takes place in the NCAA Tournament. These are called quarterfinals. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I have been enjoying the women's team success as much as anyone, but (perhaps) sadly to say, it can be argued that not even Geno Auriemma's UCONN squad, by far the best women's basketball team in the country, is in the "national spotlight". By god, let's enjoy the Bonnies and hope they go on to win the NIT, but lets not carried away. It was great when the (mens's) Brown Indians won the NIT, I was elated, but it wasn't that big a deal outside of Olean. I hope that the RC is raucous tomorrow. I wish I could be there. They have earned our enthusiasm, and certainly our respect, but let's not make it into something it isn't.

Word is, expect well over 3,000 ... I have a hunch they might even hit 4,000 with the walk-up sales tomorrow.

I think it's awesome that people are getting behind the Bonnies' women's team.
Like I said before, there's zero shame in jumping on the bandwagon. They have to work harder to get a loyal following, and they deserve the community stepping up.
It's really awesome to see that people ARE stepping up. It shows just how starved we are as a fan base. Our fans are awesome, and can provide great support, we just desperately need an outlet.
Much props to anyone who goes to the women's games. I urge someone who wasn't planning on going to go and be loud, please. I would, but I'm stuck in Louisiana.

Right on jpschmack ! And it would also be nice to see some of this spill over into next season, and some greater season ticket sales for the Lady Bonnies.
On a side note, looking ahead (we fans are allowed to - players are not); after we win today, we play the winner of BC/Georgetown. Here are the attendance figures for those teams in their WNIT games at home:
Winthrop @ Georgetown - 347 Richmond @ Georgetown - 563
Boston U. @ Boston College - 575
Paltry, to say the least !
