He's just someone to keep an eye on. He won't be hard to keep an eye on. He'll either be the one sitting about three seats from the end of the bench, not finishing around the rim, or packing his bags once we find a legit replacement. Sorry, I like the kid, but he is not an A-10 big man at this point and I doubt he ever will be. I hope I'm wrong, but I see us going "small" at the four before Cook sees significant minutes. I'm still holding out hope we land a PF before the summer is over.

Hopefully Cook develops into a solid big man, but can't compare him to Davenport, who is a young player that has displayed potential. First of all with prep school and red shirting his first year Cook is not a young player. In fact Hall and Matthews are the only players on the team that are older (Cook is actually a month older than graduating senior Carter). Second Davenport saw his playing time increase throughout the season, while Cook saw his playing time drastically decrease. First 10 games Davenport had 57 minutes of PT, but last 10 games he had 121 minutes. Cook experienced the exact opposite, first 10 games had 156 minutes and last 10 had 30 minutes of playing time. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/teams/stats?teamId=179

The pattern of minutes played over the course of the season, cited by Chuck, point out Coach’s decreased confidence in Cook as a contributor & increased confidence in Davenport. This was particularly evident in the final game in AC against Richmond. Lacking the inside presence of Thomas (who dominated Richmond earlier in the season) Cook never saw the floor. Andrew played 39 mins (only had 3 fouls) with Mark deciding to play small ball. Carter played only 1 minute when Andrew sat. With Thomas playing that game I don’t see Richmond beating us.
Davenport played significant mins & played well: 8pts, 2-3 treys, 7 boards & only one foul. He matched Eleby's assists with 4 fewer TOs. In spite of Chris going 1-12 & our 20 TOs (Eleby 6 of them) we were within 6 points inside of 10 mins due to Mike’s back to back treys & a beautiful assist to Andy who we had a hard time getting the ball to inside. Mike would have seen more floor time earlier in the season but was slow to pick up on all of Mark’s system. It all started to click for him toward the end & should lead to a very solid upcoming season.

Scraping the resin off the bowl for some juco still floating around isn't a better solution. Significantly worse since costs a scholarship. Can't think of a much worse idea.]

Are they going to be cream of the crop? No, but if they are capable to bring something to the table, then I'm all for it. Please show me where I mentioned the word JUCO? I trust the staff to not sign a throw away player, just like I trust them not to play Cook significant minutes unless he grows a heart, pair, and the ability to finish around the rim. If he happens to be a JUCO, so be it. I'd rather have someone like Carter going into next year than Cook.
