I know this time is slow and we all crave any information we can get our hands on. I thought it might be a great "news update" if someone had a connection with the strength and conditioning coach. It would be dynamite to hear who is working the hardest, who has seemingly improved the most, who has bettered all their personal best in the weight room, what is the chemistry like, who has spent the most time in the gym??? It might be fun and uplifting to hear about the progress of our team in the off season. Anyone out there with the contact? Could be a great thread!

Normally, i would be posting something after this weekend (high school team camp at Bona's)but unfortunately we wont be attending this year. Last year was alot of fun talking to coach about recruits he was able to talk about and in the evenings watching the pick-up games the Bonnies would play. I will miss that, but hopefully we will be going back next year and i will have something good to offer.

I heard reports that Nicholson has packed on between 15-20 pounds of muscle since the end of last season. This is good news because it's looking more and more like he's going to be our only reliable inside presence this upcoming season. We saw him struggle a little against players with bigger frames last season, so let's hope his bulking up will help him hold his own.

I also heard recently that House has added some bulk and that Davenport is no stranger to the weight room. If Cook can adopt the same attitude, we might be adequate down low assuming we are not giving out the final ride this late in the game. However, there are still rumors floating around, but little substance so far.

Darryn F. is a great guy and an outstanding s & c coach. He has helped me out in the past with programs for my team and school. I can guarantee you that the SBU athlete is getting the best even though the weight facility is a joke. If you want to know what kind of program he runs just take a look at the s & c pictures in the BB media guide or web site, it says it all.
BIJF, it's great to have you back. Our good friend JH has kept me in the loop.

I thought a local lottery winner donated a new weight room a while back. Is it really that bad? Darryn F. is a great guy and an outstanding s & c coach. A decent weight room shouldn't be hard to get an alumnus/group of alumni to contribute towards. I'm thinking $50,000 would help toward a good update of what's already in place. The problem that I have with a lot of what SBU does, whether its academics or athletics, is that SBU plunks something down, walks way from it and rarely looks back until the "something" is nearly in shambles.
Darryn's terrific skills and dedication only go so far.....the man needs the proper tools to get the job done the right way.

not sure what you guys are talking about. They just built a brand new recreation center in 04'
Pretty sure the athletes workout here: The $6.2 million state-of-the-art Sandra A. and William L. Richter Center, which opened in fall 2004, brings a new level of fitness and recreation to St. Bonaventure.
The recreation center features three basketball courts, an indoor running/walking track, an aerobics room, racquetball/squash/wallyball courts, a weight room, 5,000-square-feet of cardiovascular and weight equipment, locker rooms, a reception area, and a climbing wall.
The center was funded by a $3 million leadership gift from Sandra A. and William L. Richter and supported by other private gifts as well as contributions from the classes of 2003, 2004 and 2005. Sandra Richter is an Olean native and graduate of St. Bonaventure, along with her father and uncle. William Richter is a former member of the University's Board of Trustees.
I HIGHLY DOUBT ITS OUT OF DATE ALREADY!!!!
