Saw this in the paper the other day, surprised no one has mentioned it here; also there is no mention of it on gobonnies.com.
Members of the St. Bonaventure men;s basketball 1970 Final Four team will hold a youth basketball clinic on Saturday, August 22 from 11-2 PM on Bob Lanier Court in the Reilly Center.
The clinic is free and open to the public. Girls who have not yet entered ninth grade and boys who have not yet entered seventh grade are eligible to attend.
NBA Hall of Famer and star of the 1970 Final Four team Bob Lanier will be one of the instructors. He will be joined by former teammates Dale Tepas, Greg Gary, Matt Gantt, Mike Kull, Paul Hoffman and Bill Kalbaugh.
Lanier will also be giving a speech about the value of education and reading.
For more information or to register for the clinic, contact the St. Bonaventure University athletic office.

What a great thing to do. I wish I could go myself.

Good point, Mangham. I Hadn;t thought of that. I'd pony up $20 (or $50, or whatever) to step on the court with these Bona legends. They could steer the money to any cause they wanted.
And although Billy has at least 12 years on me, I'm sure he'd still fake me out of my supporter and go right around me.
I;d also love to post-up the Big Cat one time - just to say I did it. I know my shot would be rejected into at least the fourth row !
How about it Bona's ? Think outside the box for once. have another clinic for 'old-timers' after the youth clinic. $20 a head to rub elbows with some Bona legends for 30 minutes - and the money can go wherever you want (BAF, Bob Lanier Foundation, etc).

I believe the team has a reunion every summer at school. A round of golf at Bartlett followed by the reunion.

This would be a great opportunity to catch an un-official visit or two from those recruits geographically near by.
I believe that Big Bob was in the house when we landed Andrew and Marquis Simmons. Just saying!!

Larry Weise must be the one that rounds out two foursomes. Coach was a pretty good stick when I occasionally looped for him in the early to mid-70s up at Bartlett.

Teps - Dale Tepas is a hell of a player. I don't know what his handicap is but he can play. Bob can smack the ball but with his legs he has limited mobility. He is fun to play a round with though. Played with Matt a few years ago in one of the Stax outings - he was just getting into the game then so he still had better hops than a golf game. Hoffie is a heck of a player as well. He's retired so he gets in a lot of rounds. I have not had the opportunity to play with Billy, Kink or Bubba so I can't comment on their games. I think it would be Teps followed closely by Paul.

Forgot mention Friday! Paul Grys is a heck of a player as well. I think he'd follow up closely after Teps and Paul.

Why was Grys called "Friday" ? I've heard that reference before...
