The Bonnies will be on National TV on Sunday March 14 at 1PM ET on CBS.
That is if we make the Finals of the A10 Tournament.
This is the time of the year to be optimistic. It should be a fun season. Let's enjoy the ride. Practice starts in 2 weeks.

I think as Nicholson blossoms, the country will be interested in the newest All American candidate from Olean. I keep thinking of what Schmidt said in comparing Andrew with David West and feel like 17 point, 10 rebounds and 4-5 blocks per game will bring some national attention to our young chemistry major. He is the key to our success and I expect he will be logging 30-35 minutes a game and see a quantum leap in his stats. Malcolm will also take big strides, having benefitted from 2 years of playing time under the Schmidt system against A10 talent. It's great to get excited about the new faces but our returners who started will only be better than last year.

Malcom 2009-2010 stats.... 11ppg.. 5.5 assists. 4 rebs Until Blackburn's injury, Ray significantly outscored Malcolm. First 16 games Ray scored 163 points to 94 for Malcolm. Ray was not the same player after his injury, which is revealed by the stats. Malcolm averaged 5.9 ppg in his first 16 games, while sharing time with a healthy Blackburn. How many points a game is he going to average while sharing time with Ogo? sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=41505sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=36175

I was never a Blackburn fan, I'll admit, but Malcom turned it up as SOPHMORE and I think he will be even better as a Junior.

bonaman2013...Malcom increasing his scoring from 7 to 11ppg is quite reasonable assuming he plays similar minutes. Also, increasing from 3.4rpg to 4 could be easily achieved. However increasing to 5.5apg will be a challenge for Malcolm. Last season he had only 2.9apg and his 1.14 A/TO ratio was well below what you need from an effective PG. He did really improve his handle from his frosh season but I feel his play making skills was lacking. He played the majority of our minutes at PG (due to Blackburn’s injury), but Matthews matched him in the # of assists & Hall actually had more. Matthew’s A/TO ratio was significantly better & frosh Davenport nearly matched Malcolm’s A/TO ratio.
Last season we had difficulty getting the ball into Andrew. Due to his lack of bulk, Andrew could only get into effective scoring positions for short periods of time. It required an effective PG to hit him quickly once he established position. This was an area where we struggled. Andrew’s added muscle & experience should prolong the window to hit him with a good pass this coming season. Ogo may be the answer to maximize The Professor’s increased inside scoring. During the last third of last season Andrew demonstrated a nice shot out to 17’. He showed another dimension to his scoring ability (hitting .602 of his shots - 2nd best in A10). Some of that was out of necessity in not getting the ball down low.
With coach reporting that Davenport has been the “star” of open gym & Ogo getting good reviews I see Malcolm’s minutes being challenged. There is one constant about Malcolm’s game & that is his intensity & passion. I loved the way he came into the crowd behind the bench at Rutgers to celebrate the win with the Bona Faithful. I’m hoping his game will be stepped up for this season. It will need to be.
