12/30 - Canisius 1/6 - GW and ... technically 1/16 - Saint. Joe's ... classes don't start until the 18th, but residence halls open on the 16th; depending on how this team is doing by that point will dictate a lot if students make a conscience effort to come back.

who do we play when students are away on break? Because you have to. No college would choose to schedule home games over break if they could avoid it. But among Thanksgiving, Christmas, and "Spring" breaks, students will be out of the dorms, by my count, for 42 days. Many students will be gone longer assuming they don't have finals on Thursday or Friday or take off earlier for other reasons. The regular season lasts for 112 days, give or take. That means that students are gone 37.5% of the time. Sure, you can schedule a tournament in there, but unless you want to shut the season down over breaks, you've got to play other games somewhere. I'm sure Charlotte, Marshall, Niagara and Xavier would rather play Bona when their students are not on break either, but it you want to get 26-28 games in every year, you've got to play games, home and away, while students are on break.

Never mind.
Despite my less than stellar reading comprehension, I think I'll leave my post up. Sooner or later, somebody gets around to asking the "why" question every single year.

Well at least the question "What do we play when the students are on break?" no longer is asked, during the Anthony Solomon years I don't think many people would call it college basketball.
