I agree with jacob. I always thought it was amateur athletics and the college degree was a good reason behind playing college athletics. The win at any cost was what Wick and VBK were into. That got Wick and his shiny brown suit an early retirement and VBK is coaching the men's over 50 Tuesday night beer league somewhere in Tennesee. Pulling scholarships because the player is not what he was "hyped" on this board to be seems about as far from Franciscan values as I can think. The program is moving in the right direction under the current regime. Not everyone is going to start or get minutes. Obviously, the legitimate high school superstar who is the 11th man at Duke or Syracuse must feel like the degree is worth something towards his future unless these programs annually pull the plug on these recruits and their future as some on this board are looking for.
