The foul you refer to above was so ridiculous that Ref Seratore approached the Prof at the free throw lane and said, "It was a good block." I was sitting in the front right on that baseline. I literally heard him say it. Having said that, I agree that whining about fouls is really not the issue. The Prof needs to adjust to the manner in which the game is being called. He simply needs to play smarter.
Your post is inconsistent. Do we want him to "play smarter" and not make good blocks because some knuckle-headed ref might blow him for a foul. If Seratore told him that it was a good block then he did play smart. He can't be expected to anticipate a blown call in advance. I think people on this Board would all be more upset if he simply stopped trying to block shots for fear of a whistle by a hack ref. Go for it Prof!
I want to clarify that it was DeMayo who spoke to the Prof not Seratore. My post is not inconsistent. I am saying that the Prof needs to adjust regardless of whether a call is good or bad. The really bad call was the first foul (when DeMayo spoke to him). He had 3 more fouls after the horrible call. He did not play smart basketball after sitting most of the first half. He picked up his third foul within 130 seconds. At that point he really needed to be careful. Instead the Prof gets called for a 4th foul on a reach. The Prof has to show better judgment so that he can play his 33 minutes per game. How is my post inconsistent?
