What do you think Carter has improved on? He only averaged 5 point a game as a junior and now he is leading all scorers. Last year they did not need him to score, but distribute the ball to 3 BCS recruits: Dominic Cheeks (Villanova) Devon Collier (Oregon St.) and Ashton Pankey (Maryland). St. Anthony also had Derrick Williams (Richmond) and Jamee Jackson (Quinnipiac). Assuming with the graduation of Cheeks, Collier and Jackson, St. Anthony now needs Eli to accept a scoring role. Eli Carter finishes the season scoring any where near 15 points a game, he will be flying up the rankings list of Scout, Rivals and other recruiting sites. Bonnies are fortunate to have him already signed. www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/yalcqztpTUGaeFGzqMVKNA/st-anthony-friars/basketball-winter-08-09/stats.htm

St. Anthony’s senior guard Eli Carter one to watch this season Another player whose come out of the woodwork and announced his presence with his superior scoring is Elijah Carter. Carter is currently getting looks from Notre Dame, Rutgers and Providence. “Eli is a scorer first, he’s a combo guard but I’m trying to make him into a point,” Sports University AAU coach Brian Coleman said. Notre Dame showed major interest in Carter at first, but their recruitment of the 6-foot-2 scoring guard has tailed off recently. Why? All-world guard Kyrie Irving, who’s widely recognized as one of the nation’s elite prospects. “They (Notre Dame) really wanted Kyrie Irving,” explained Coleman. “I think Kyrie and Eli are real similar players. I think that if they can’t get Kyrie, they’re going to get Eli. Kyrie was really first on their list.” With Irving reportedly favoring Duke and Indiana, the idea of the Irish netting the St. Patrick’s star is far-fetched at this point. Irving, whose game, smarts, and personality has quickly made him one of the nation’s most highly sought-after items on the recruiting market, plays with Sports University in the fall. Expect to see Irving rolling with the All Stars at IS8 this fall. *********Follow NBE Sports on Twitter: twitter.com/NBESports****I heard from some reliable sources that Carter is a legit guard for the A10. I will check him out soon. Yes him and his buddy who choose richmond over us transfered from Life to St Ants. His coach speaks highly of him. I cant wait to get see this kid play for us. I predict Carter, Davenport, Conger, Nicholson, and Homac being key players in taking us to a top 3 team in the A10 by 2012 fighting for a bid and a 20 plus season. Would like another banger downlow and a someone who can hit the three to compliment but i think coach and the staff are on the right track.
