Good win for the Bonnies. I started the thread that questioned him after Niagara I will start the thread praising him after a win. This is the type of game that could have gotten away from us, but it didn't. Coach made some good adjustments and Hall had an awesome game. When teams take away Nicholson others need to step up. That happened tonight. Team responded well after falling behind. Remember Canisius took Duquesne to double ot in Pittsburgh. This is a team we needed to beat and we did it. Good job.

I have great coaching credentials. I was unofficial waterboy for the Bonnies at the Armory in 1959.

Just heard from Don Jones who killed us on the boards in that game. His roommate Al Butler did pretty well also. They shot about 80% for the game.

I too was very critical of coach after the Niagara game, but give him props for last nights game. Seemed more calm and made some key adjustments during the game. As a team we played okay, but that is a pretty good Canisius team, but one we should/did beat. I do believe a team is a reflection of its coach and we/he did better last night.

Coach knows what he is doing. Many wannabe coaches on this board. I wonder what their coaching credentials are? Schmidt did a good job last night switching to the 2-3 zone and I was critical of Schmidt following the past two losses but I still think deservedly so. He let his star player get tossed from a game after the opposing coach asked the refs to check the replays (when does that ever happen??) and watched his team blow a 16 point halftime lead the next time out. We may not have coached or played Div I hoops but we've seen enough to know when someone is outcoached or outplayed.

I like the job Schmidt is doing overall, but the idea that no one should be able to comment absent one's own coaching experience, on a message board no less, is ridiculous. Solomon had infinitely more coaching credentials than I. Can I not therefore suggest he might not have been Bonaventure's John Wooden? I've never been President of the United States before, either. Not even a lowly town board member. Maybe I should abstain from voting in the future based on my inexperience.

I'm with you. Many times was I shot down for criticizing Slo for unfathomable substitution patterns, coaching his assistants during timeouts instead of his players, and an inability to make adjustments at halftime. I was asked where my coaching credentials were. You dont need to be a virtuoso violinist to know when you hear a bad orchestra.
