PLEASE audition the Anthem singers before you award them the honor. That was pathetic tonight. An embarrassment to the school, the Anthem and the USA.

Yes, it is the least of our worries, but it is still embarrassing. You being younger (I assume - '05 grad ?) you probably never heard the great Lou Russo sing the Anthem back in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Sang it at something like 298 consecutive home games, before Diles unceremoniously dumped him.
It was something every fan looked forward to - it was an event. Even the students back then greeted him with a boisterous LOUUUUUUUUUUU ! LOUUUUUUUUUU ! as he took the mic.
He was an SBU icon, unlike that Roseanne Barr rendition we heard tonight.

A bit dragged out but I thought it was very good! Just goes to show ya, no matter how thin you slice it, there will always be 2 sides to everything!

New York, New York. I want to wake up in a city that never sleeps.
I still get to hear good ol' Lou sing every now and then. Even though alzheimers has taken quite a bit from what he was. Still brings back memories.

I'm sorry, but those two girls were HORRIBLE at the last home game. They sang in at least 4 different keys (for any of you who actually know about music) and made a terrible attempt at "jazzing" it up at bit. Let's try and think back to when the National Anthem was written. Do you think anyone who sang it back then sounded like Mariah Carey on crack? I HIGHLY doubt it...
Also, does anyone remember the guy who sang a few games ago who had to READ THE WORDS from a sheet of paper in his hands...i doubt if he was even American because that was just a disgrace, i really wanted to die.
I asked if there were any open slots this season a long time ago due to the horrific performances...they won't give anyone new a try (even if they've sung at an NHL all star event and NYS championship games in front of 6000-7000 people)
If you're going to sing the anthem in public PLEASE know the words and PLEASE sing on key.
Good luck to the Bonnies on Sunday!!
