On Sports Extra tonight, a package by Adam Benigni, including interviews with Sr. Carney and Coach Sol. Made mention of Crowley's reinstatement. Relph will remain suspended until his legal situation is resolved. Yet another re-hash of the Terrell mess.
Sr. Carney: "We will not sell our soul for athletic glory." (If you've forgotten, that quote was from the late Bill Swan. R.I.P., Mr. Swan.)

The package was total garbage...didn't tell us anything than what we already knew. About the only thing that was noteworthy was Solomon sticking his foot in his mouth yet again, saying "Our fine young men" and things of that nature.

Come on, Wally!
Give Coach Sol a break. Mistakes and screw ups don't preclude folks from being called "fine young men", for example.
Thankfully, our Lord is all about "second chances".
We should be too!

Right, it's just mistakes and screw ups. DWI and plagiarism aren't just mistakes. They're both cases that can be easily avoided. I give Sol credit, he's in a tough spot and trying to make the best of it. But at least tell it like it is. It's like this all during the season too. How many times are we going to hear the same things over and over again. It's a broken record that just keeps getting worse.

OK, Wally, so they're mistakes that could be easily avoided.
Have you ever made mistakes that could have been easily avoided? Ever messed up and done things you were ashamed of?
Probably, but as someone "out of the limelight", you probably didn't have those mistakes hashed out in a variety of public forums (I know they're athletes representing SBU et al).
Our athletes aren't any different from athletes at other universities across the country. SBU is not the "exception". Does that mean actions of the sort committed here are to be condoned? No, it doesn't. Does it mean the "mistakes" should have been avioded? Yes.
BUT.....does it necessarily make them something less than "fine young men"? Absolutely not.
Coach Sol is a good man; I trust his characterization and those of posters like you - though you're most probably a "fine young man".
Peace.
