Johnny Zuppardo visited Mississippi State last Friday, and will visit UW on Friday, April 18. He also holds offers from Kent State, Louisiana-Monroe, St. Bonaventure, Tulane and Wichita State.
This season with the National Champs Jones County CC he had 15.2 ppg, 63% FGs, 43% Treys,76% FGs, 6.9 rebs. Excellent stats playing 20mpg.
He was selected for the All Tourney Team
In HS won the 4A State ship at St Stanislaus. Picked for the All South Miss Team, also the All Miss All Star Team.
Went to Arkansas State & transferred after his frosh year to S Mississippi where he had to sit a year. Then transferred to Jones CC where his HS coach became the HC.
At the JUCO National Championship Tourney at Hutch he performed well against top competition. Had 32 pts on 14-22 shooting & 8 rebs, 19 pts & 6 rebs, 21 pts on 10-18 shooting.
In the championship game he played against Posley who was injured the day before in the Semi Final game.
Jones CC had him listed 6’9”/220. A great shooter who plays well with his back to the basket due to his fine footwork not his leaping ability which is average at best. Hits long treys with a fast trigger & low release.
He AND Posley would provide excellent trey shooters to any team. Both at Bona would certainly provide the shooters all teams look for. Johnny's inside/outside game can present matchup issues.

The competition for Zuppardo looks pretty steep, but you won't know unless you try. Watching UConn play in tournament I was reminded how much a big, who can go outside and shoot, can make. Not necessarily comparing talent levels, but felt throughout the season that the Bonnies were close in so many of there games.

Huge signing. A classic shooter with range and a muscular strong build. Our bigs should be absolutely delighted in getting some breathing room!

Zuppardo committed to Miss St.
With Posley in the fold, and Adams apparently headed to BU, maybe a big wing is next.

What is Posley's eligibility? He played D-1 for a year, then JUCO, so he's a little out of the norm. Will he have 2 years at Bonas or 3? And I assume that since his second year was at a JUCO, and assuming he graduated, he'll be able to play right away, correct?

We wont get that Jalen Adams. I'd be shocked if we did. He is a teammate with Taqee and that is our connection to him. I will happily eat crow if we land him. Jaylen played with LL in HS and I thought he committed to you guys already. Did something change?

We usually only announce on signing at a time. How would you describe his game and potential to be an impact player at St. Bonaventure and the A10?

You have the Jalen or Jaylen or Jalen Adams confused. There are actually three of them. We have a Jalen Adams who is a redshirt freshman, there is a commit from Jaylen Adams (the one you referred to) and there is a Jalen Adams (class of 2015) who is probably the best of all. He is in prep school at Cushing Academy.....being looked at by all the big schools. How did your son finish up.....I know he played very well against us.

Jaylen Adams played with LL and should be 2014. He signed with Jacksonville then got a release after the coaching change. It was reported that he committed to you guys. Prep was also mentioned before the commitment. I checked the thread to see when he was coming. Thanks for the warm welcome. I made someone angry the last time I posted about our game. So I check on players I know here and there wthout comment. LL had a solid freshman year made the all MAAC rookie team which was decided by the coaches and that is an honor. He does many things out there and it was refreshing to see that he was appreciated for it. Looking forward to another good game with you guys next season.

He is underrated due to his size but has played at the highest level from day one. He can shoot and pass... he has a very high bball IQ and an even demeanor. He will do well on the DI level.

Good for him! and who cares about the posters who tried to take you to task ... keep posting here, I like your commentary!

Thats exactly how I felt and could not stay quiet about it after the game. I do wish you guys well esp since Jaylen will play there. I also know Akeem very well. He grew up in our neighborhood and played for the same rec center as LL when they started out in elementary school all the way to middle school. Akeem traveled with my 9u AAU team as the manager and his dad was my asst Coach. You got another good one there

Given their age difference how might you expect the PG position to be split by them this year? We hear Iakeem is more of a defender/ballhandler and slash to the basket without a top outside shot where Jaylen has a better shot but maybe not quite the defense.... any of this seem true based on what you have seen?? thanks
