Andrew Nicholson has come a long way since his days at Father Michael Goetz Secondary School. Since graduating in 2008, he has been a basketball All-American, a conference player of the year in college hoops, a first-round NBA draft pick and has established himself as a rising prospect with the Orlando Magic.

I think we should file an official protest with the Canadian embassy! Who cares? Andrew found us and that is what matters. It sounds like he is doing things right. What a great ambassador fir SBU.
I'm always amazed to watch ESPN documentaries, such as 30 for 30, in which retired profesional athletes that were once paid millions upon millions in salary and endorsements are now broke or in jail for tax evansion.
It's refreshing to hear an NBA player (and SBU grad nonetheless) talk about saving his money. Nicholson is a class act through and through.
Given how well Tobias Harris played over the last two months after being acquired in a trade, Nicholson could have a hard time getting increased minutes next season. It wouldn’t be out of the question to see him offered on the trade market, especially if the Magic intend to become more of an uptempo team.
With Doc Rivers going to coach the Clipper next season this could be the perfect fit for Andrew. Doc was reportedly high on Drew before the draft last year and was going to take him in Boston if he fell to their pick at 21. He could be his next Kevin Garnett type player. The "lob city" thing would likely move into more of a half court offense with Doc and CP3 running the show which would suit Andrews game real well. You would have to think Orlando would be really over paying for Eric Bledsoe in this deal though. Too many question on marks on weather Bledsoe is a franchise starting PG in this league yet to give up so many assets. Will be an interesting story to follow here.
As the youthful Orlando Magic prepare for Summer League action, John Denton of the Orlando Sentinel brought some updates on the offseason training of some of their players.
"#Magic PF Andrew Nicholson ended Sum Lg practice today by making 8 straight 3-pointers. He's worked hard to add that to his game for next yr," Denton tweeted.
Nicholson, who was drafted 19th overall by the Magic last season, didn't even attempt a trey during his rookie run, but he did manage to average 7.8 PPG in just 16 MPG. Adding some range to his game could help him earn more minutes in Year 2.
Denton also noted that Nicholson and Moe Harkless "look noticably bigger in the arms and chest after spending countless hours in the weight room," but he added that, "I'm told of all #Magic players to make strides in weight room this summer PG Doron Lamb has made biggest jump. Could be another find for ORL."
Lamb came over from the Milwaukee Bucks when they stole Tobias Harris in the J.J. Redick salary-dump last season. Fantasy owners are going to be keeping a close on on this roster as next season gets closer, because they have a lot of young, talented players who should have every opportunity to rack up stats.

if i was the reporter's editor, i'd be concerned that it lacked preciseness...as an alum, i find it easiest to describe to people who have never heard of bonas that it is located in western new york, 90 miles south of buffalo...that seems to work for most people...and if they seem interested in learning more about bonas, i give a little sales pitch...you never know when one of those conversations turns into some student becoming a bonnie!

And if I were your editor I'd tell you that SBU is much closer to 70 miles from Buffalo than 90.
