Yes, AN got to start and maybe in next game he will actually get to touch the basketball! AN started because Vukovich was out. As usual with Baby Davis was in the middle, the offense was stagnate. Davis was 1-7. AN was 4-6.
I watched a stretch of almost 10 minutes where the Magic took every shot when only passing the ball 1 or 2 times. In that stretch AN never got a shot off. He set one screen after another and was open on a number of occasions. One particular time he had a layup, but Davis threw up a wild shot instead. The only times AN touched the ball in that stretch he was 25 ft away and off coursed passed off.
They did absolutely nothing to set up AN, other than to put him in the corner for a "3" where he was easily guarded while the man with the ball was playing 1 on 1. AN may not be a superstar, but I don't understand how a NBA coach cannot design offense for a player who can score. I have seen games where he is utilized, but it is not the norm.

I imagine you are referencing the 3rd quarter......the Magic run no plays, Andrew is in the corner, and never gets the ball. At least in the 4th quarter he got 2 shots....made one, and the announcers said that this kid can shot. The Magic play street ball, not a team.

the magic are poorly coached. based on what i have seen recently, i dont understand what andrews role is. he sets screens at the top of the kid, then slides off to a corner where he usually doesnt see the ball. then he gets back on D. whats the point ? the only way he stands a chance in the league is to get on another team. if he remains with Orlando he will be cut at the conclusion of his contract. the only way he will survive there is if there is a coaching change.

Great line for AN tonight against the Grizzlies. Four blocked shots with 5 min left.

AN played 37 minutes and scored 19 points on 8-12 shooting (2-3 from 3P)and pulled down 11 rebounds. Magic lose to Grizzlies 94-85. season to date 10 ppg and 5.3 reb pg.

Vucevic and Harris are out with injuries, I guess, so it seems like Magic are thin. Andrew is getting more time and not surprisingly doing something with it. His team is pretty awful, but it is nice to see him with another double-double.

Interesting that they said over the past seven games AN is number one in field goal percentage, number one in three point field goal percentage and number one in foul shooting, in the entire NBA!!!!
Only taking 11-12 shots a game when ball hogs like Afflalo and Olidipo ignore him for their own egos. He should be getting 18-20 shots a game.

forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1288988 Some interesting comments on Drew in a thread titled “ANFOR REAL.” Interesting comments on Drew's play. One poster cited his rebounding performance which had been suspect. These stats show a significant improvement in getting to the boards. I copied & pasted but the picture of Drew examining a test tube with formulas on a blackboard behind him did not copy. Great photo with title "THE SCIENTIST" Physicist NBA PLayer REB per 36 8.9 - A. That thread was a nice read. It sounds like the Magic fanbase is seeing what we always said about Andrew. He has always been a fouler so that is something that they have to live with. Orlando has the assets to improve a ton over the next couple years so I hope he is part of that or can get onto a team that will utilize him more.
