That's actually not fully true...as it is right now, with the NCAA, he has one year left. Had had an eligibility issue coming into SU due to his lack of knowing the english language as he took additional classes to improve. So, we all know how great the NCAA is and they docked him a year. He has appealed to get that 2nd year back.......it's being held is NCAA "Court" as we speak....another BS NCAA situation.

With the big guys available dwindling, not a must get, but would be a tremendous pick-up for the Bonnies. Obviously did not take the ACC by storm with his play at SU, but with size and banging against solid players for the past 3 years, I think would be a big contributor next season...and potentially two seasons if he's granted his lost year back. Would love to see Schmitty lock him in before he visits Piscataway.

Obokoh and/or a Kalif Young are the exact type and level of recruit we should be in on and hopefully land.
Obokoh signs and he likely gets 2 yrs eligibility .... with the team we have at the 1,2 3, & 4 - we can think NCAA back to back years - that's what its all about and major kudos to the staff to make it happen!!

Chinonso Obokoh arrived in the USA 9 years ago & made great strides acquiring his English skills at Bishop Kearney. Hopefully the NCAA will recognize his additional time at Bishop Kearney was necessary to be successful in College & a wise academic decision. In High School his strength was rebounding & shot blocking. As a senior he had 11.3 ppg, 15.6 rebs!!!, & 7 BLOCKS!!! He was rated a 3 STAR. #15 nationally by position & #87 by 247 SPORTS. To translate what # 87 equates to, he was at the top of the 89 – 80 category = Three-star prospect. One of the top 10% players in the nation. This player will develop into a reliable starter for his college team and is among the best players in his region of the country. Many three-stars have significant pro potential. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6wSf4LnV0w www.youtube.com/watch?v=58ezlVmkBns When interviewed at Kearney after committing to Cuse he said its “God’s Plan.” Maybe God’s plan will bring him to Bona to rebound, patrol the paint & get set up by Jay for strong finishes while furthering his studies. Wish him all the best!

I'm trying to make sense of KALIF YOUNG's recruitment: plans visits to Providence, Alabama & Marquette. Goes to visit Providence then cancels Alabama & Marquette visits. This past week, Providence gets a commitment from Top 100 ALPHA DIALLO. In the meantime their star BENTIL, declares for the NBA but does not hire an agent, leaving the door open for his return to Providence.

Sounds like he may be thinking the prep school route while leaving Prov. as an option if Bentil does not return.

Nwora is from buffalo...60 miles away..has been offered by P5 schools...haven't seen sbu mentioned in the chase...the kid is going to prep school..perhaps that is why sbu didn't/isn't pursuing at this time.

CHINONSO OBOKOH As reported by several sources, including Matt Agnoli (link to his article below), Chinonso Obokoh plans to visit Rutgers tomorrow May 3rd after having visited Bona this past weekend. Chino has expressed he wants to START as an impact player. As Agnoli points out that is a possibility at Rutgers but may not happen especially with the addition of 6’9” Sa on April 28th. Matt Agnoli wrote……Obokoh, who announced his intent to transfer April 6, reportedly wants the opportunity to start immediately. Rutgers recently added transfer big man Candio Sa, the second-leading shot blocker last season on the junior college level, and returns frontcourt pieces in DeShawn Freeman, Shaquille Doorson 6’11”/270 and Ibrahima Diallo 6’10”/240 It remains to be seen if the Scarlet Knights can guarantee a starting position to Obokoh but he will certainly have the opportunity to earn it in preseason workouts, especially if injuries continue to plaque the returning bigs on the roster. Aaron Brietman wrote…..JUCO Candido Sa is a 6'9" power forward who played at San Jacinto Community College in California was signed by Coach Pikiell. He finished 2nd in the country for JUCO players in blocked shots. His defensive presence around the rim is a major need for Rutgers and head coach Steve Pikiell found his man. Sa is also said to have the ability to stretch the opposing defense with his mid-to-long range jumper. Rutgers is thrilled in getting the 6'9" JUCO. Another impressive fact about Rutgers landing Sa is that he was scheduled to visit Texas and head coach Shaka Smart this weekend. Texas had met with him last week before scheduling his once impending visit, and Pittsburgh was trying to schedule a visit with him as well. Instead, Sa decided to commit to Rutgers instead of taking those visits, resulting in a huge win on the recruiting trail for coach Pikiell and his staff. Sa visited Rutgers two weekends ago and the staff made him a priority since, paying off with his commitment today. rutgers.247sports.com/Bolt/Report-Rutgers-to-host-Syracuse-graduate-transfer-Chino-Obokoh-45112939 So the bottom line is there are lots of BIGS at Rutgers to help turn a struggling program around from finishing last in the Big Ten with a dismal 1-17 conference record & 7-25, with an over 290 RPI in front of an arena 58% EMPTY. They love their football! All the best to Chino as he decides where to showcase his talents this fall with the perfect match. The contrast between Bona & Rutgers is stark & clear to see.

In a article at ZAGSBLOGTWITTER, OBOKOH's Rutger's visit is discussed: "The Rutgers visit was very good" OBOKOH's Rochester guardian Kevan Sheppard told SNYtv "Coach Pikiell has assembled a first class staff over there." Asked what the appeal of playing at Rutgers would be, Sheppard said "The opportunity to play a big role and go against good bigs in the Big Ten. Their message is come play as many minutes as you can handle and help them change the culture." Sheppard said he was uncertain when OBOKOH might decide. "I'm waiting like everybody else on a decision,," he said "He never set a drop dead date but I suspect it will be soon."
