Hopefully, yesterday we saw a preview of what Taggee can develop into the next couple of years - sooner rather then later I trust. He looked like an upgraded Cumberbatch - at the core a long, bothersome perimeter defender who can maybe help stem the onslaught of 3s from opponents by getting a hand in the face of opposing sharpshooters. He can also grab a handful of boards, a few steals, knock down the occasional 3 or mid-range jumper and help bring the ball up court when needed, all at a less frenetic pace then Andell and hopefully without the questionable (at best) decision-making resulting in ill-timed forced shots and uncontrolled drives, all while providing energy off the bench mixed in with starts when needed. Am I too optimistic based upon one showing?

Looked confident out on the court. Smith and Adams too much pine makes them look else wear.

You are kidding with the spelling of his name right? I also think taQQee has a lot of potential and could be a big part of our future.

Taqque has a long way to go. up to yesterday he's been your basic no runs, no hits, no error's type of player. perhap's the duquesne game was his coming out party, im certainly hoping so. he has got to improve his shooting, both from the outside and at the ft line. if he can do it he'll see a lot of PT next year.

I thought we already established that you cannot improve your jump shot in college? I guess Taqqee is screwed. Seriously, I think he will develop just fine and be a good 4 year player for us.

Jimmy C - I disagree - Meech was more inside on O, although tough out front on D, so similar, but I just don't see Taqqee having the inside game around the hoop or the board play. - but I'd love another Congers in any form - he was one of the most under-rated and under-appreciated players we're had here since another similar small forward from the past who was hugely under-rated - Carl Jackson - in fact it would do Taqqee good to watch some of Jax' film - Mr. Tenacious!

Ceharv - I believe Jimmy C is saying Taggee is the new Congers in name only

I agree with FAFFY's comments, while TAQQEE did a lot of positive things yesterday, he still has a ways to go. Some of the aspects of his game that are missing right now will naturally improve with experience. While I will stay clear of the "Bonnies' ability or inability to guard the 3" debate, TAQQEE did the same thing yesterday that many of the BONNIES guards do on defense that drives me crazy. For some reason the Bonnies guards do not want to play physical on the their opponents' drives down the lane. So many times they could "front" the guy with the ball thus causing him to change direction or stopping him in his tracks, but they tend to play that "ole defense" and let them continue their drives to the basket while running along side of them.

Might be the fear of fouling that earns them a seat on the pines. Taqqee scored effectively while in the Northeast Prep ranks. Give him time and we may get another David capers type player.

With what we have returning next year I'd say Taqque projects to be a stater next season unless we pick up a transfer.
PG- Jaylen Adams SG- Posley SF- Taqque PF- Gregg C- Wright

Can he play more than 20 minutes before we start comparing him to some very good recent players ? Maybe Taqqee could add something to the team. Doesn't this help prove that Schmidt has not used his bench well. Taqqee was not playing at all, and in this game he proved that he could bring something to the mix. What about Tyson and Adams? Could Taqqee's success inspire Schmidt to see what others could add to the team? Why can't we fight through a pick to defend the 3?
