Good place to share information about our new recruits. Who do you think will be the most productive new player? Defend your choice by sharing information about one of the Bonnies new players.
I'm hoping the player will be Jourdon Morris, because we do not have a returning player at the small forward position. But he is only a freshman and when was the last time a freshman started the entire season? Therefore my choice would be Jermaine Calvin. Here are some highlights from the internet:
1) He was once ranked 3rd in the state for the Sean Elliott Award, given to the top player in Arizona. He was a 1st team All-State player. Here is rest of article:
3. Jermaine Calvin, 2004
5-10, 175 PG
Tempe (McClintock)
-Leads Arizona’s premier 4A team with 23.0 points per game.
-A great athlete with pass-first point guard skills who just happens to be capable of filling up the score sheet at any given time. By far the best senior point guard in Arizona.
2) Here is an impressive report from Rivals on Jermaine's game:
Jermaine Calvin update
Amazingly quick, unstoppable when he wants to penetrate the lane. At only 5’10” he has the hops to dunk with ease. By far the best point guard in Arizona and one of the top five players in the state.
3) Everything I've read and heard of Jermaine Calvin leads me to believe he will become a fan favorite with his; tenacious man defense, all out hustle and his ability to make players around him better. Jermaine is described as a great penetrator.
4) Jermaine averaged less than a point a game as a freshman at Utah, but he played in 28 games and averaged 9 minutes of playing time a game. He played quality minutes, many being at the end of a close game.
