If lacrosse and baseball can win big then there should not be an excuse why the rest of our teams cannot be successful. Why does baseball and lacrosse win, because they have good coaches. They should be no reason why the two basketballs and the two soccers cannot win. It is all coaching and recruiting. What Tony Zostant has done should show every Bona fan that we can win in any of our sports. It just take better coaching and recruiting. Some might say that women's lacrosse is not men basketball but in reality they are alike. We do not spend a million dollars on women's lacrosse. We probably spend the same percent of money on lacrosse vs. its top competition as does men's and women's basketball and the two soccer against their top competition. Better coaches and better recruiting is the answer. If Sudbrook and Zostant can do it why not others. Remember, they have had to deal with the same negatives and excuses that we all have been hearing for all of these years. Small school, small town, no money, low salaries, the school is in the middle of nowhere. The difference, Sudbrook and Zostant win.

So what you're saying is...
It's all coaching and recruiting?
Groundbreaking.

Lacrosse is a great story but it is a once in a Blue Moon event. Baseball has been a consistant winner, but it took Coach Sudbrook 17 years to build the program into what it is today. I doubt anyone would show that kind of patience with Coach Solomon.

Whether or not lacrosse or baseball is successful has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the basketball program is successful.

All I am trying to say is that I am tired of hearing all of the usual excuses over the years as to why basketball cannot consistently win. Small school, small town, no money, low salaries, the school is in the middle of nowhere. Zostant and Sudbrook are under paid, low budgets etc. and they win. We just need better coaches. Great coaches find a way to win regardless of the problems.

Trying to have a winning program in basketball is much more difficult than it would be in baseball or lacrosse. There's just no comparison. It really is an apples and oranges arguement
