Thanks derhut - the article suggests that the transfer students are expected this weekend - I'm assuming the university will wait till after then to speak about both numbers- Frosh and transfers.

Disappointing. Still, it could have been worse. Hopefully an all-out recruitment effort by the entire University community over the next school year will put this number closer to 500 frosh moving in in August, 2016.

One thing I find interesting is that say the number is 400. I am pretty sure Athletics brings in right around 70 freshman alone each year, which would be 17.5%. That means that the Office of Admissions is only bringing in a little over 300 students. Granted, Admissions and Athletics I am sure partners together, but I find that interesting.

Granted, Admissions and Athletics I am sure partners together, but I find that interesting. this is why i think the discussion of new majors is an important one...to attract more students who are non-athletes...btw, increasing the number of div 1 sports would also increase the enrollment (hopefully)...and expanding our footprint beyond our traditional recruiting areas also needs to be addressed, but the same old issue rears its ugly head: where's the money going to come from to add faculty to increase the number of majors offered (in fields where we don't presently have faculty to offer those majors)?...where's the money gonna come from to add more div 1 sports?...where's the money gonna come from to increase the budget which would allow us to begin to/increase our recruiting efforts in areas where bonas has not traditionally attracted students from in the past?...
