Just knocked off first-place Rhode Island in two straight games on the road; has the Bonnies up to fourth place in the A-10 and climbing, despite losing his top two pitchers to off-season shoulder injuries. They also took 2 out of 3 from league powers Charlotte and GW over the past couple of weeks.
Larry just finds a way to "Git-R-Done", despite the enormous shortcomings in budget he has to deal with year after year.
Xavier will be in town next weekend, and it is also Spring Weekend for the students. If you want to see some really good baseball, stop by McGraw-Jennings field starting Friday at 3:00. Bring a lawnchair and join the crowd on the hill. Average attendance has been about 300 or so for home games, and the atmosphere (especially the students) is worth the trip.
They fill the 3rd. base side hill, one group has a sofa in the back of a pickup truck; another group cooks on a gas grill in their truck; and the Reilly Rowdies are at their best getting on the opposing team. They come up with some stuff that will have you rolling in the aisles. Also, all kinds of giveaways for home runs, stolen bases, strikeouts, etc.
Hope to see some of you there !

It is about time this board starts giving some credit to what the baseball team is accomplishing. Despite a few early A-10 losses, mainly due to errors that were probably a result of playing far less games than most of their competition, they are still in great shape to make the A-10 tourney. The early season schedule was one of the most difficult in the conference, as they played Charlotte, Rhode Island, Dayton, and GW. The rest of the schedule features teams with losing A-10 records.
Congratulations to what the team has accomplished thus far. If for some reason Pellegrini does not get drafted this year and leave, this team will be very good next year when he is able to pitch again and pitchers Mike Proctor and Brian Hardner are both healthy. However, with a batting average over .400 and leading the team in almost every offensive statistical category it seems the only question is how high in the draft Brian will go.
