I'm hoping we've got a diamond in the rough here but this one smells like a Yankuba Camara. Camara averaged less than 4 pts and 3 rebounds for a low level JUCO program and was not recruited by any high majors. Being the leading scorer and rebounder on a top 25 program kind of says it all!

Well actually, Camara originally signed with Miami. I'm with some of the other posters that wonder about his academic ability, his work ethic, and his skill level. He could just be a big body with not much talent but a style like Shaq where he just muscles everyone around. That type of play could work at the JUCO level but what happens when he faces bigger players? Does anyone have any info about how he faired against players his size?

From what I remember, Camara originally signed with Fordham.

I think Stud is right, I remember Camara signing with Miami (FL).

He signed with Fordham, then 1 or 2 JC's, then Miami, then us. There might be another school, maybe a prep.

Yes, he was the leading scorer and rebounder on the No. 18 JC team in the nation. I believe he outplayed former Bona recruit Calvin Walls in regionals (something like 10-7 to 7-5), but Walls' team, ranked 17th, won the game. Not only was Frantz an all-District XII selection, a third of the nine all-stars were from his Vincennes squad.
This kid has moved around a ton, from Haiti to Montreal, finally to New England in 2002. Anyone have any numbers from his freshman year at Vincennes? Please don't compare this guy to Camara. Not even in the same league.

I fear this whole discussion will become academic. I know I tend to expect the worst (comes with being tied to underdogs likes Bonas and being a Bills fan on top of that), and I'll be glad to be wrong, but if this guy didn't sign already, other, brighter lights will catch his eye.
Was his visit to SBU an "official" one?

Frantz is described as being inconsistent. This is displayed by looking at his box scores this basketball season. He would score 25 points in a game and then the next couple games he would score 2 or 3 points. I wonder why he can be a star in one game and be invisible in others. Check out the attached link to see what I mean. www.vinu.edu/sports/mbasketball/2006/

Anybody who compares this kid to Kuba is smoking some pretty potent hemp. There is no comparison. He would be a very good get for Bona. In addition to Bona, there are high majors on him. It's amazing how some people judge a player that they have never seen.

I dont know if he is a Kuba or not, but by saying he could be a "good get" ... I assume you have seen him play?
