Some talk on the A-10 board about a possible schedule format change in the A-10, thought we might start discussing it here as well just for the heck of it.
Talk is they might go to a 2 division format, 7 teams in each division. NCAA is going from a 27 game schedule to a 29 game schedule, so with 2 divisions, the A-10 would play 18 games (home & home in your division - play 6 of the 7 teams in the other division). That makes 18 games and leaves 11 games for non-con opponents.
My thought on division breakdowns is like this:
North
UMass Rhody St. Bona's Fordham St. Joe's Temple LaSalle
South
Dayton Xavier Richmond GW Charlotte St. Louis Duquesne
(Draw a line from Olean to Philly, and you have exactly 7 teams North of that line and 7 teams South of that line).

I like the north/south concept better that east/west for a conferene (at least at one time) named the Atlantic 10. Funny, though, that it doesn't really shift what schools would probably end up in each division.

Even if the A-10 does not go to two divisions, the teams Bonas playes home and home are scheduled to be changed after next season. This goes for all other A-10 teams as well. It is sort of like the Big 10's rotation in football every two years.

NCAA expands hoops schedule BY DUSTIN DOW | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER The NCAA Board of Directors increased the number of games basketball teams can play each season.
Teams now may play in multi-team events at the beginning of the season every year instead of twice in any four-year period, which was the previous rule.
Teams that play in multi-team events (with up to four games in those events) then may play 27 other games during the regular season for a total of 31 games.
Teams that don't play in multi-team events may play 29 games during the regular season.
The Board also established the second Friday in November as the official start of basketball season.
