I have two questions for the experts on this board.
Who do you think the final addition to the class will be?
What can you expect Relph's stat line to be this year if he is healthy?
Great weekend for recruits here at Bonnie, spring weekend is in full swing and it is a beautiful day. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Final recruit will be a big body.
If Relph hits the weightroom this summer (and it is even a tenth as hard as I hit it) I expect 20 pts a game from him this season. You heard it here first.
Everyone have a great weekend. If you're fortunate enough to be at Bonas enjoy the sights as Fox would say.

It appears the final addition will be Lounceny Kaba a JUCO from Monroe CC. He is an athletic shot blocker, who is still developing his offensive game.
Prior to Bonas Tyler Relph was a high profile recruit and he proved he was worthy of his press clippings by having a solid freshman season at West Virgina. He was the leading scorer of his freshman class and West Virgina's 6th man. He even started a few games. Now how do you explain last season? I'm hopeful last season can be blamed on his injury. Rimrocka is correct, Tyler needs to hit the weight room. Tyler is capable of Rimrocka's prediction of 20 points a game, but I'll be more modest with a prediction of 15 points. IMHO Tyler is critical to having a successful season.

Maybe Kaba can be that Cyrus type player we have been missing for the past few years a guy who can rebound, defend, and get the crowd going with a big dunk from time to time.

A good comparison. IMHO Kaba would be closer to Caswell in his sophmore year, when he was developing his offensive game rather than Caswell's senior year, when he was an offensive option in the post. Jerome Spellman might be a better comparison. Great shot blocker, who was also a solid rebounder, but he lacked an offensive game in the paint. Except for the occasional dunks.

Chuck - I've got to hand it to you for your memory of Bona players. Did not think I would be seeing a Jerome Spellman reference anytime soon. I remember big hair and a lanky frame. Was he under the Chapman regime?

I was thinking Kaba might be like Robert Cheeks. I'd gladly take a Robert Cheeks type player (especially in his junior and senior years when he actually developed an offensive game, however limited). Cheeks was a very good defender for his size and played smart. How many charges did he take? He must hold the record (though we'll never know as they don't keep a record of charges taken).

Cheeks was 6'5... What he did at the D-1 level was amazing for his height and lack of size.

Was he under the Chapman regime? GoPadres it wasn't quite that long ago. Spellman played for Baron from the 94-96 seasons. Despite playing only 2 seasons, he is currently second on Bona's all-time shot blocking list. He did not have the great leaping of a Caswell Cyrus, but seemed to have a special knack at blocking shots. What I remember was his long arms and his slow casual blocks. gobonnies.cstv.com/ot/m-baskbl-prgmrecords-blocksrecords.html
