Barring something out of the ordinary - we will have a new head coach at this time next year.
Here is hoping that SBU will learn from it's mistake in 2003, in terms of the joke of a selection committee that selected our current head coach.
Who should pick our next head coach next March-April?

First of all, I completely reject the idea that even a poor showing next season would mean a coaching change. Bonas is not a big state school where a handful of million dollar doners are breathing down the neck of the athletic department. We should lean toward stability and building a program, not tearing it down every few years and looking for a miracle worker to come in. This is not accepting mediocrity, it is simply doing what is best for a school in SBU's situation. Solomon has character and should be given every opportunity to succeed. So what if it's five years before we make post-season. There have been longer droughts and bringing in a new regime will not get us there any sooner. However, your question about who should pick a new coach does raise an interesting question. SBU has leaned towards this stupid committee approach. I think it should be the athletic director making the decision. (With final approval by the president.)

Forget any sort of selection committee. I agree that the next coach shuld be chosen by the athletic director with the approval of the university president. This selection committee stuff is pure nonsense.
