The season ended with some guarded optimism and hopes for some follow through into next year and now you wonder if the recent departures of 2 assistants signals "problems" or if 2 guys are just moving on. I believe that assistants can be replaced and will not read into this too much. The bigger question is Sol capable of coaching this team to respectability. This coming season will either show results and he will become established at Bonas or he will be fired. I am sure of this. His task was very formidable but not impossible. If you can't turn the corner after 4 years then why expect year 5 to be any better. Sol has not delivered so far. Some posters think this guy should get an open ended window to show he can deliver but my hunch is the alumni and fan base as a whole are impatient and want something to feel good about now. I have never personally met Sol but as much as he seems liked by many, if the results are not there he will be replaced. Coach Sol needs to show he is Marching Forward. Less than 20 wins over 3 years is not the Bona tradition we expect to see. The x is on Sol's back, he knows it I am sure and will do his best. I think 12-13 wins next year is the goal. Win some league home games and it is done. If he cannot deliver that, then it is time for Bonas to March Forward with a new coach.

I can agree with most of what your saying except the 20 wins over 3 seasons was during an abnormal time for the program and you can throw out tradition as a benchmark for results over these 3 seasons. The only true benchmark to use would be a similar team coming off of a similar downfall.

I believe that this is a must year for Solomon. I wish him and the mens basketball program well. However, if the team is at the bottom of the A10 again, it is everyones best interest, including Solomon, to make a change. There is too much at risk to allow this once proud program to be the laughing stock of the A10 conference.
Go Bonas

I agree about the abnormal time but when does Sol stop getting this as a reason things have not marched forward? We elect Presidents for 4 year terms and then they have to be judged on their results to get another 4 years. I am not blaming Sol at all. Just questioning why we would continue to accept single win seasons as progress. This school has tradition and can field a competitive team in our league. Are we the next George Mason? No. How about a .500 season. Yes. I am questioning 1 thing. Is Sol capable of turning the corner with this program. I think this coming year should be the year where we see whether he is the right guy to run our program. I don't want to invest another season in him if we win 9 games next year. I always felt an alumnus should have been hired but that is water under the bridge at this point. If Sol fails he will join the ranks of DeCarli, Chapman, O'Brien and VBK as guys who couldn't match the success of JB,Sats,Larry and Eddie. I think that speaks for itself.

We should start with this season and use last season as a measuring stick. All I was really trying to say was that the records from the first two seasons after the scandal should not be used as a measuring stick to us marching forward. Let's hope we can get it done this season and increase our win total again. Our best case scenario would be for Sol to succeed.

It was his most successful season. This is the season Solomon had his most A-10 wins with three. He also had his highest RPI at 242. His 7 wins were accomplished against the 74th ranked non conference schedule in the nation. Clearly this is better than this season with 2 A-10 wins, 290 RPI and 8 wins against the 288th ranked non conference schedule. I agree our best scenario would be for Solomon to succeed and he has to get it done this season. A minimum expectation should be 10 wins and remember it is being done against one of the easiest non conference schedules in the nation. kenpom.com/rpi.php
