Here is part of the article, Parrotta talking about hiring his assistants coaches: For his staff of assistant coaches, Parrotta has hired Rochester native Rob Norris off Pat Kennedy's staff at Towson as his lead aide. Parrotta was recruited by Kennedy for Iona in the mid-'80s before he played at Fordham, and Parrotta knew Norris from his Colonial Athletic Association days at Hofstra. Tim Paul also comes with Parrotta from Hofstra, where he was the graduate assistant. A third full-timer is expected to be announced shortly, when his paperwork is cleared by the Canisius human resources department. Brian Miller, MacDonald's former top assistant, is mulling the role as operations director and is the only assistant who might be back. Said Parrotta: " You only get to hire a whole staff once and I was looking for people who are hungry and weren't scared of turning around a program." Full article, which also talks about his recruiting, is here: www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060518/1040231.asp

I saw this article in this morning's paper and wondered how long it would take to appear here, it figures since who posted this. It sure is interesting how the wny papers and fans put different spins on things. For instance this article has the title"GRIFFS SIGN HIGH-IMPACT PAIR", interesting since one only averaged 7 pts a game. I can just hear if we had signed him. Even the article itself contradicts itself, it goes on to talk about these 2 signees by stating "players who need to have big impacts next season." A little different from the title "HIGH IMPACT PAIR" I like OTH Vinny's title on the article when he announced KABA's signing, BONA SIGNS 7th JC-that just oozes with VINNY's disapproval. It's just interesting how some posters criticize when BONA signs JCs but when the CANISIUSs' & DUQUESNE's do it, their new coaches are geniuses & saviors. Also, OHSHUSKIE, you highlight this first time coach's quote about the hiring of assistants, sure he'll say that, what's he suppose to say? Posters here have criticized SOL for not naming his new assistants yet, maybe he's taking his time to get the right people.

Sipo - I dont recall anyone calling either coach a genius! I don't even necessarily have a problem with JUCOS. I just think (based on nothing more than credentials) Duquesnes did a better job recruiting!
But, that is why they play the games!
Go Bonnies!

PHANTOM buddy, pal, I wasn't referring to you, my paranoid friend!! Where were you though when HCS's sports were getting trashed? Paranoid? What? Who me? Why? Sip - Earlier I was getting killed for commenting on Duquesne's recruiting and what a good job their coach has done! As far as the Hinsdale thread, read it again!

PHANTOM or is it PHAT for short?-Are you one of those people that think SAM A is a good get for the DUKES, yet 2 years ago when BONA was looking at him were going around saying we should be looking at better? Just like old times, I love giving you a hard time!

More Canisius in today's (Tuesday's) News. The Griffs have hired former Rhode Island guard Lazare Adongono (don't care how it's spelled enough to look it up, we remember him) as an assistant coach. I believe this will round out their staff. He had been at URI the last few years as Baron's administrative assistant.
Any ideas on who we might have in mind as our second or administrative assistant? Isn't it getting late? So much for Tim Waller, or no? Won't we need coaches pounding the pavement at camps and tournaments in a month?
