St Louis erupted for 7 runs in the top of the 9th to break a scoreless tie and take the A10 baseball championship by a score of 7-0.

It was a remarkable season that came down to being outplayed in the final inning. Players, staff & supporting cast of parents and fans are to be all commended on a fantastic season. 5 games in 4 days is a huge challenge without your two best hurlers. No doubt they feel they should have been victorious but they have lots to be proud of. SUPER season Bonnies a wait till next year!

Is anyone familiar with the surgical procedure Pellegrini is having on his arm? How long does it take for a full recovery? Will he be playing summer ball?
Can't wait for next season. It has to be forecasted as one of, if not THE best ever.

WGT, Tony and I made it down for the noon game on Sat and yesterday's Final. I looked for you but I guess you didn't make it to either of those two. The Fordham field and facility in general were very nice and made for a great place to hold the A10 tourney especially for us in the NYC metro area. Our crowd was small but very supportive and if held again at Fordham it would be nice to see the same kind of support the hoops get when we lace em up at Rose Hill. It was a geat game yesterday until the top of the ninth. Vincent was pitching a one hitter, I believe, when the throwing error seemed to open the flood gates. He pitched so well all day I was hoping he was going to let him finish the ninth but ...........felt bad for Zinnicker as he gave up the key hit in the inning (3 run homer) All in all , a great tourney for the Bonnies and with a break here or there we could have easily won yesterday (had some scoring opportunities early that just didn't materialize) Even tho the Hoops is a bit down now, our Baseball, Tennis, Swimming, W Lacrosse, Softball, etc. seem to be doing very well in the A10 so I for one hope this MAAC talk goes away forever as sooner or later we will be back to a mid level A10 program in hoops which will be good enough for most of us which will give us a much more Fun regular season (Fordham, Temple, UMass, RI, etc.) with an occaisional post season appearance. Also, as I don't get to post much I want to thank "91", Fox, etc. for keeping the Board going and also all the great Bonnie supporters and posters that I enjoy reading ( WGT, Dem, jh, OSB, B02, Sneakers, Cope, BigD, etc. etc. as I can't even come close to remembering all - even those with a different view as long as "91" doesn't have to use the delete button ). Now that Baseball is over hopefully Sol gives us something to feel good about during the upcoming recruiting season !

777…. I was at the Thursday & Friday games. Had I known you were coming down I would have made sure I was there on Sunday. Very tough loss. St Louis had no homers in the tourney & one off the foul pole just above the low fence was opportunistic for them. Hats off to them. They beat Bonnies twice based on good run production in just one inning in each of their wins. Next year looks very bright for Bona Baseball, especially if our 2 best pitchers return with healthy arms. Felt real bad for the 2 seniors giving up the 2 HRs in the 9th. I know Sean Bruit & his parents & feel it was a very somber ride back to Binghamton. These baseball kids work so hard. Many may be unaware that the seniors were NOT able to participate in their graduation ceremony because of a scheduled game at Temple. Temple would not rearrange the schedule to accommodate them. After 4 years they, & their families, miss out on their graduation. These kids & their families are what makes Bonas so special. Hope to see you at the Burton & the RC in the fall.

Bonnies06.... On Thursday, I spoke with Brian's dad about his surgery. He indicated that it will be performed as soon as the season ended. He was very positive about the prognosis & said he should be ready for next season. However, IF it is a torn labrum it can be very problematic for pitchers. Of the 36 major-league hurlers diagnosed with labrum tears in the last five years, only midlevel reliever Rocky Biddle has returned to his previous level. Not a promising outcome. Often Labrum tears are not diagnosed until exploratory surgery. His dad is a very upbeat personality & Brian appears to share many of his genes at least in physique. Bona prayers will be going his way.
