Saw this on another message board and thought it might lead to some interesting topics. It works like this, I start with a topic and then the next person answers if they buy (agree) or sell (disagree) and then give a reason why they are buying or selling. After responding to any of the previous buy or sell comments, poster should give a buy or sell comment of their own. It is important to quote the topic you are responding to. At the bottom is a link to the Falcons message board, so you can see how it works. Currently they have 22 pages of buy or sell comments. Here is my buy or sell comment. This time last year, I doubt anyone would have chosen Paul Williams as the most important newcomer. This year Zarryon Feret will be the most important newcomer, because he provides the perimeter shot this team is severely lacking.boards.atlantafalcons.com/index.php?showtopic=163047

Zarryon Feret will be the most important newcomer, because he provides the perimeter shot this team is severely lacking. [/b][/quote] I will buy this particular comment. Fereti could very well be the most important newcomer if he can consistently knock down the trey. I've said before that I had heard that "Z" was very impressive on the floor during his visit, so hopefully his solid play comes to fruition. The dark horse in this sweepstakes, though, has to be Jermaine Calvin. If he can run our offense with the kind of efficiency he did at CSI, we'll be in business. Not to mention his alleged Winn-like defensive prowess. Free Peaches.

In college hoops...I'll always go with a top PG.....but I think both will be starters and are a very good place to look for impact... whats interesting to me...is how many 'easier' looks will Paul Williams/ Mile Lee and other shooters get now that there will be a quick penetrating guard who has the ability to kick it Ferrati can help as an individiual shooter,,,but any top PG can help 4 players around him.... Diggs improved us at PG immensely last year providing ball handling and defense....Calvin should step it up even further by providing penetration as well....

Insightful posts Sir Elton and JH, but you didn't leave a buy or sell comment for others to respond. Since I've been discussing the Bonnies with JH for almost 10 years, I know the type of comment he would have made. For JH here is his buy or sell comment:
With the addition of Kaba, we now have a shot blocking presence something the Bonnies haven't had since Caswell. But most importantly in Jermaine Calvin we have a penetrating guard, who can break down defenses and create open looks for his teammates. Jermaine Calvin is the type of PG, who makes other players better. Paul Williams, Lee, Relph, and AJ will become better players because of Jermaine. Buy or sell, Bonnies will have at least 12 wins this season.

Buy the 12 wins this season. Improved talent, despite the departure of Ahmad will ensure that.
Buy or Sell...The Bonnies Defense will give up less than 70 points per game next season.

Can we choose hold. I think I need to wait longer to even fathom who will be the most important newcomer this season. I do think Z will be important though. Calvin, Williams and Kaba will also play important roles this season also. Buy the Bonnies will win over 12 games next season. Based on last years experience the players had, deeper talent on the roster, and just because I don't think I can take another season with less than 12 wins. Buy the D will give up less than 70 pts/game. The addition of Calvin gaurding the pt or top of zone and Kaba's presence inside. Also, because it seemed like a lot of A10 games were lower scoring affairs last season and it may be a trend.
Buy or Sell...Relph will average double digits next season.

Buy or Sell...Relph will average double digits next season. Heavens to Betsy, that one's easy... BUY, BUY, BUY! Buy or sell: Tyler "Herb" Benson will make a significant contribution to this year's team by midseason. FREE PEACHES!

Buy or sell: Tyler "Herb" Benson will make a significant contribution to this year's team by midseason. FREE PEACHES! I'd like to buy, but I'm not yet sure it would be the wisest purchase. Although he was getting 6-8 quality minutes a night once he was healthy down the stretch, we have somewhat of a log jam at the small forwards spot. As of now, I'd say he's behind Hawkins and Ferreti for PT. However, the departures of Ahmad and Patrick surely free up minutes for Benson, who played bigger than his smallish 6-7 frame and even gave us time at the 4, especially when we went to a zone. Also, keep this in mind: he can shoot. That's something no more than three other players can say, and being a perimeter threat alone must be worthy of minutes. If a "significant contribution" can come in 10-15 minutes off the bench, which I feel it can, I think Tyler Benson will contribute. I'm buying Herb. Now (drumroll), back to the real reason people visit this board - the Heart Break Kid, Tyler Relph. In 18 games last season, Peaches scored 125 points. Add that to the 156 he dropped at WV, and he's sitting on 281 going into his junior year. BUY OR SELL: Tyler Relph will amass 1,000 points as a collegiate.

That would translate into approximately an scoring average of 13 points a game for his junior and senior years but would it automatically mean that we are much improved and increasing the number of wins.
I buy it! mostly because I want to believe someone needs to pick up there game and why not the most herald player on the squad, he's the one who should be taking over the team from ASmith.
The true question is whether it means more wins......even on losing or bad teams someone has to score the points, grab the rebounds, etc....
Buy or Sell? can the Bonnies be competitive in the A10 (middle of the pack /make the A10 tourney) with an undersized PF, SF & SG?

I'm selling the Bonnies being a middle of the pack team in the A-10. If Solomon gets 8 conference wins (middle of the pack in A-10) he would be deserving of a contract extension. Have to walk before we can run, so I'll buy the Bonnies making the A-10 tourney.
I'll buy Relph scoring 1,000 points for his collegiate career, which probably means he'll be one of the top 2 scorers for the Bonnies his last 2 seasons. So buy or sell:
Relph will be the most improved player for the Bonnies this year.

"Relph will be the most improved player for the Bonnies this year."
I'll but that.
if Relph and MLee combine for 40 points per game, the Bonnies will be better than .500 at home vs A10

I absolutely buy Peaches being the most improved player this season. Especially since he should finally be healed from the bone spurs in his foot. He should have his quick first step back so he'll be able to get his deadly mid range pull up J going again.
Buy or Sell?: Kaba will be the next Kuba

I'll purchase that. I heard glowing endorsements by some players about Fereti and others. I heard nothing from them about Kaba.
Buy or Sell: Tony Mandarino posts on this board? And the Peach breaks the hearts of over 15 co-eds this year?

I'll sell Kaba being the next Kuba. There were higher expectations for Kuba, with him being signed by St. Johns and being rated as a 4 star recruit by Hoopscoop, which is the highest rating ever for a Solomon recruit, that actually played for the Bonnies. With Kaba we know what to expect. Kaba is limited offensively, but can block shots. Without a doubt Kaba is signifcantly more athletic than Kuba. I've wondered if Kuba can dunk. I'm sure he can, but I've never seen it in his 2 years as a Bonnie.
Buy or sell:
Bonnies need 10 wins and making A-10 tournament to justify another a year for Solomon as head coach of the Bonnies.

I'll buy that, and ten wins might not be enough, especially if they're all cupcakes like last year.
Buy or Sell: Bonnies shoot over 65% from the line this year? (62.7% last year)
