Apologies if the SBU hierarchy didn't want this published, but it is a much needed public relations thing and I think people should know about it.
BonaFest, the annual church picnic/fundraiser conducted by St. Bonaventure Church, will be held this weekend at the church grounds. I've learned that on Saturday, from 1:30 to 3:30, Greg Lewis (the liasion on this) and 13 of the Bonnies basketball players will make an appearance to promote the upcoming season, and give everyone a chance to meet the new Bonnies.
Several activities are scheduled with the players, mostly oriented toward the youth, I'm told. A great idea, we need more events like this for promotional purposes. No need to be "inacessible" - no politician ever won an election without getting out and mingling with his constituents - the same goes for the Bonnies !
If you build it (good will with the public), we will come (increased ticket sales) !

I'll be in the Allegany area this Saturday (breakfast with a long time friend & retired faculty member) and maybe I'll come over. I've got a wedding in OP later that afternoon ; so Fox I'll look for you if timing is right.

Gotta work until 4:00 - but I'm the only mail truck in the West end - look for me between 10 AM and 4 PM somewhere between Tops and SBU.
I'll be at Bonafest in the evening (probably).
Golf in August again, or not ??

Is BonaFest just on Saturday or does it also run on Sunday?

Some of my friends (including southhampton) did a bar crawl in the olean/allegany areas this year. They went to 18 bars. Has anyone topped that?
