I was banned last year. I made a comment regarding Jay’s play last year. Is this ban permanent?

What username were you posting under last year when you were banned. I looked through banned members, and Joe70 isn’t listed as being banned

Tom---He actually posted under the name Joe48.....he posted a couple of times under the name of Joe70 on the A10 Board.......he is not considered highly on that Board, and the same on our Board. He was banned by Ladderman. He was extremely vocal in a bad way vs Jay.....we are better off without him as his posts add no value. As a poster he comes across as a jerk. But I can understand if you want to give him a chance.....but Ladderman had a good reason to ban him.

One thing that concerns me, should we go forward and reinstate you, is that you said you “made a comment regarding Jay’s play last year.” I just read through 4 pages of your posts, and there was actually ONE positive comment about the Bonnies. I am a firm believer in free speech...spent 20 years of my life defending it. This is a fan board and, while not every post is going to be positive, one positive post in 4 pages is not a good thing. I will get with 08, and we will let you know soon. Thanks

Tom thanks for responding. I was surprised to get banned without any warning, I get the spirit of the blog. If I get reinstated I probably will not comment very much anyway. FJS64’s critique was unnecessary. His comment about being a “jerk” turned me off quite frankly. At the age of 70 I can do without the name calling.

Joe, Tom and I decided to give a second chance, however no Tomfoolery will be allowed, and you would be rebanned. So please for the sake of all good things, please keep things civil. The Joe48 account is unbanned

No tomfoolery? From Webster's Dictionary on line :
buffoonery, clownery, clowning, foolery, high jinks (also hijinks), horseplay, horsing around, monkey business, monkeying, monkeyshine(s), roughhouse, roughhousing, shenanigan(s), skylarking, slapstick
In the Middle Ages, "Thome Fole" was a name assigned to those perceived to be of little intelligence. This eventually evolved into the spelling tomfool, which, when capitalized, also referred to a professional clown or a buffoon in a play or pageant. The name Tom seems to have been chosen for its common-man quality, much like "Joe Blow" for an ordinary person or "Johnny Reb" for a soldier in the Confederate army, but tomfoolery need not apply strictly to actions by men. In Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables (1908), for example, Marilla Cuthbert complains of Anne: "She's gadding off somewhere with Diana, writing stories or practicing dialogues or some such tomfoolery, and never thinking once about the time or her duties."
Now you know. Excellent choice of words, Bona08
Editor's note: seems like monkey's have taken it on the chin with all of the synonym references. I wonder how PETA and the PC Police think of all of this namecalling and condensation of the actions of our primates? Horses are also getting a little bothered too.
