Been reading The BV for quite a while now and have to agree with some observers that The BV has shit the bed over the last year. Damn shame that this digital fish wrap is produced by a university that has such a highly regarded J/MC School. Wondering if work can somehow be accomplished over this summer to get The BV back on track for 2019/20? Used to be that The BV won national and regional awards for a college newspaper. Would like to see that start happening again.

The May 2 edition of The BV unfortunately continued to shit the bed. I'm unable to get over the awesome, graphic and impactive pics of a parking lot and an empty hallway that are featured. The rambling, cliche-filled SIMM piece also had me pissing my pants with excitement. And the super boring fashion article with the pic of the woman wearing badly torn jeans almost caused me to drop a deuce in my own bed. Hopefully, this is the last edition of The BV for this year. If this digital defecation can't be improved next year it should be flushed down the SBU/JMC shitter as an embarrassment to the University and Jandoli School.

The BV is digitally archived at

Looked back at some issues from when I was a student and fond memories flowed. Also impressed as to the quality of the BV back then (Dr. Jandoli tenure) as compared to the shit-the-bed fish wrap produced over the last couple of semesters.

Interesting that a September 5, 1986 BV article notes 656 freshmen entering.....an all time frosh enrollment record up to that point according to the BV. Would be nice to see the administration consistently crack 600 freshman enrollment over the next several years. Think it's highly possible with the current SBU leadership.
