Maybe this situation can help bring about a positive change for the board overall. Maybe there needs to be general posting rules/guidelines stickied. If there were some rules posted about what belongs on the sports board vs events vs off topic that would be helpful. Also if there were some general guidelines to acceptable language it would be nice. Over the past several years when I have been a consistent poster I've learned what is allowed vs what is considered out of bounds. But it is a bit of a wild west atmosphere to a new person on this board that doesn't know who the trolls are/who can be taken seriously and currently there is very little being done to help a new person acclimate.
I get this isn't reddit and reddit isn't the most wholesome place but most of the popular subreddits have a list of guidelines for what is acceptable/expected of posts on that sub. I think something like that would be beneficial here as well.

Lester was not given the benefit of a "warning" for his posts. He should be reinstated with a warning, like any other member would be. If not, the embargo will remain in tact and the Civil War will rage on. We do this for justice. We do this for Lester.

It seems like there are a lot of posters here with very low post counts that suddenly have an opinion to share on this topic...
It would be my preference that there is an effort to eliminate useless posts that are only for the poster's own entertainment. They just clutter the board and devalue the experience in my opinion.
I will say that I am in favor of enforcing a no profanity policy. Which, frankly, I already thought was a policy...

I voted "no", not because of his gibberish posts, which I enjoyed deciphering as their was usually a nugget. I even enjoyed his posts on the A10 Board.....and previously as Sir Elton (minus the profanity rants). But he gets banned when he crosses the line....when he discusses murdering someone, or physically fighting someone that he doesn't like....whether serious or not. That is crossing the line of this Board, and many others. So those defending his threats ought to look at what you are defending. I don't want him "gone", oh wait he is still here.....but possibly show a little more common sense. Yes. Murder is bad. But I'll take one man's life over the unspeakable bloodshed that will be left in the wake of a war. Free Lester for the sake of humanity!

We don’t want to make up a list of rules for everyone, that’s not the point of this forum, but it is pretty simple to stay out of trouble: don’t wish death on any of the players, don’t wish suffering and then death on any of the players (maybe I should point out don’t wish it upon anyone), don’t wish things we can’t repeat on anyone, don’t use excessive foul language to the point that you know it’s bad, and don’t pick out places to try to fight other members. I think that’s pretty fair don’t you all? And if somehow someone finds a way to go overboard even over those pretty simple guidelines then we’ll deal with it when it happens.

I'm not trying to poke fun at or second guess any of the admin decisions other than maybe Tom's but that is another matter. I am just trying to make a suggestion of how to possibly prevent this type of thing from happening in the future. Sure most everyone on here is able to understand that death threats/rooting for serious injury/illness will not be tolerated. I'm just saying a general post stating the expectation of civil discourse and the potential punishments might help limit these issues in the future.

firstdev hasn’t been in here in about a month 😉 Cool, thanks but a October ban was about 7 months too late. April and May many would have said he crossed the line.

I think fjs64 makes important points. These have not been disclosed as the reason for the banning, so I wouldn't change my vote, but they are worth discussing for the betterment of the board. 64 (along with Res, in a way) has also brought up historical context. The guy behind the Lester account has been here under many names over the years. He was one of the original Bevelators, as well. The Bevel was formed in response to bannings here because a portion of this community did not care for their discussions. I don't recall them being "out of bounds," but they were off topic more than not. So, they were banned, and they created their own board. It was a truly unruly place. If it still exists in an archive somewhere, I told them back then that they had too much objectionable content, and it reflected poorly on all involved. That didn't help, but over the course of time, participation on that board fell off in spite of calls for more members. I continued to check in because, like Lester here, the posters often contributed interesting information about the Bonnies or the school, and the rougher stuff rolled off just like if I was with a bunch of guys sitting around the keg busting each others balls. Many others, however, dropped, off, due, in my opinion, to the abuse and objectionable reactions they received as not being part of that "friends around the keg" culture that founded the board. So, here we are again. Do we really have to do this again? Can we have posters that contribute good stuff even if we don't like everything they post? Can those contributors reign in their temptations toward anti-social hyperbole? I'd say let's give it another try. By the way, I believe the reason a Google search for bona alumni would turn up the Bevel was because they bought the rights to the domain name "********" Similar cases happen all the time. I do believe, at founding, they had dreams of it becoming more that what ultimately happened. This is the very last time i’ll speak on this but since a good handful of you feel the need to defend Lester’s character what finally got him banned was all the complaints we received for Lester saying “let’s MURDER HIM”, while another one Lester was talking about A Certain Player on the Team saying and I quote “bub he dies of aids wah wah wah retard dick hang to the calf muscle” and the rest I can’t and won’t repeat cause it’s way way worse and could actually get us in trouble!! Another time he called someone a “pussy” then “up your dick hole” again with the rest I can’t repeat! And after he said since they are in the same city they should meet up and fight. So i’ll put it this way, we’re not going let one person and his “silly rants” jeopardize the forum for everyone else, even the ones who seem to condone his words by demanding him back (which isn’t happening by the way, I think we’ve made that clear) if you condone the things he said and continually says go be friends with him, we’re not telling you not to be, but we’re not letting him post “his harmless little rants” on here because they aren’t HARMLESS and we also weren’t the original ones to decide that BUT we absolutely agreed with it. hey elite -I always liked your posts and opinions. You don't have to explain things away. these guys (actually might only be 1 or 2 people) are just trolling and having fun with ya/us. you could delete troll accounts even if you want, who cares. its clear that "Lester" although banned never really left anyway

Takes two to tango. Looks like your doing a stellar job moderating perhaps you need a 5th or 6th? Trust me there is no dance here, that was the second time I responded to you but the fifth time you made the same remark, I don’t know if you were initially mad about something since on the day Andy and Tom said I would be helping them you were literally the only one to make a negative remark about it, like you were upset about it, like something was done to you? But as usual you have continued to complain non-stop. If you have an issue outside of Lester that you would like to discuss please feel free to message myself, Andy, or Tom, but if not I would suggest pulling up your big boy pants and stop pouting about whatever it is you think you got taken away from you. Relax I am just poking the bear. You’re fine, Tom on the other hand....Yeesh. My “complaints” come from a love for Bonaventure and all the potential. I used to wonder why so many horrible small decisions or indecision’s go unchecked. I think it has a lot to do with what alumni expect. I can go on for pages of examples where the “eh it’s fine “ mentality championed by some on this wagon has hurt the school. I won’t waste my time though. So yeah I go after the homebodies who want nothing but “win one for the gipper” because that attitude was lame for 30 years and is how we get left in the dust in 2019. It starts with the small decisions, accountability and expectations. “Two to tango” was in reference to the complacent crew that gets butt hurt and posts at me when I am critical of bad efforts. If you don’t like it as the admin I am sure you can do something about it. Go Bonnies. Also #freelester

If firstdev and the UB douchebag have not been banned then its flat out silly to ban Lester. You guys should know he is not serious when he offers to fight a dickhole UB fan. firstdev hasn’t been in here in about a month 😉 Maybe so but his account is still active. Why is that UB dbag still allowed here? Clearly has no intention of having conversation here.
