The view from here is this : The Kid is a hard worker who does has a high basketball IQ. He does the little things that don't show up in the box score - but are an important part of a winning program. A quick box score analysis of the game (Stat mongers please note) never tells the whole story. He will never compare favorably with JW (as an example) when looking at the Stat line, but yet Coach has the confidence to go with him down the stretch in our most important WIN of the season. Kudos to Bobby as well as Coach Schmidt for knowing his players and pushing the right buttons. Great game Bobby - keep working and doing what you do - you are a key part of this team.

The problem was up until last night in Feb, Bobby was not doing the little things. He was committing bad turnovers, bad fouls along with not being able to buy a bucket. The solid week of practice obviously did Bobby good. He was sharp, did the little things, made some buckets and definitely helped win the game for the team. If Boca Bobby is truly back and believe me, I hope he is, the team will be so much harder to play against.

I thought Bobby had a solid 1st half, even though he didn't score a point and was 0-4 from the field. Bobby was back to doing the little things. 1st half Bobby had 5 rebounds and a steal. Bobby had a play, which brought back flashes of the old Bobby. He couldn't grab the rebound, but he tapped it back for a made 3 pointer. It is Bobby's subtle plays like this one that has been missing from Bobby's game recently. Last night was a solid game from Bobby.

It is finding consistency. With P, we don't know game to game what to expect.
The most consistent player Bona has is Kyle. Shoon and Jaren are close behind.
I thought the Richmond game was among Dom's best. Hit some key shots, defended well, and cleaned the glass a dozen times at the defensive end.

This is the time of the season when all the players need to play smart and with a passion as Bobby did last night. The guy has to establish himself in this League. I can see him and the Bonnies strong Bench being a factor for the remainder of the season and the Conference Playoffs.
Go Bonnies in 2020

Even though this is Bobby P's thread, I TOTALLY agree with this, ohs73! I thought Dom was a KEY contributor on the glass where we needed to be strong against the Spiders. As a matter of fact, this was definitely one of those TEAM wins we need to continue with if we are going to make some NOISE going into the post-season...

Why, thank you CoachSBU.
As the game progressed, Coach Schmidt put his trust in Bobby P moreso than Winston, who if memory serves me didn't play after the break. Coach had an intuition that, based on his hustle and rebounds in the first half, P was the better option. His nine points after intermission were a shot in the arm the Bonnies needed.

[br At the end of the the day we need both Bobby and Justin. It's been nice so far if one doesn't show up the other one does. Which at this point is what we should hope for.

A rule clarification needed please. Based on the end of the Richmond game, assuming at least one ref saw a foul on a defender BEFORE Bobby swung the elbow for the Flagrat 1, why wasn't the ruling that Bobby got his free throws (as we are in the one and one at that time, weren't we?), followed by the free throws and possession resulting from the Flagrant 1? Does the Flagrant wipe out the previous foul in some way?

When they went to the monitor for 20 minutes they could only look at Planutis' foul to decide if it was flagrant or not, they aren't allowed to use the replay to look at the other call that they missed. yes I know its dumb

The zebs most certainly missed the reach-in foul on P prior to the F1.
P should have gone to the stripe for two prior to the Spidey F1 freebies. That was ridiculous.

Bobby's 9 points in the 2nd half along with his other contributions previously mentioned was a big factor in the huge win over the spiders. I keep waiting for the stroke he showed at St Mary's. Wouldn't it be great if he discovers his stroke as we close out the season.
In conference play he is .377 FGs, 28% TREYS and .688 from the stripe.
In his last 5 games he is 19% FGs, 13% TREYS and 70% from the stripe.
Hopefully his confidence was bolstered Saturday night with a supportive crowd.

Looks like the students are rallying around Boca Bobby! Signs include: “Bobby dunks, we drink” and “Bobby Planut-God” lol hopefully it continues to boost his confidence!

Impressive showing tonight from BP. Stepping out of bounds 3 times. That’s hard to do.
