I like the grad transfer idea, but I wonder about the consistent minutes that somebody might be looking for. Would 8-12 minutes be enough to entice somebody to come. I don't know I'm just throwing the idea out there.
I had mentioned that Jeremy Rodriguez, who we recruited hard and then signed with ETSU will graduate, or that's what the mid major school rankings article said, boy if he was available for a year, what a plus he would be.
Lastly, I'm still holding out hope, that Bona's stars are aligned with Russell Tchewa's, he's the Putnam Science grad who started at Texas Tech last year and then left because he couldn't get playing time. Russell is a very talented 7 footer who apparently is a very mobile guy for 260 lbs. As I read it, he'd sit one, which would be ideal for us and then play three. I know this is Dorothy tapping her magic slippers, but why not we have some connection with Coach Espinoza at Purnam and I think Russell played briefly with Justin. This gives me something to hypothesize about.

We need a backup point guard...how about grad transfer Makale Foreman from Stony Brook who can play right away. He is 6'1 and averaged 15.6 points this past season and can shoot the 3. He hit 8 in one game and had 104 on the season. Before this past season he sat out due to redshirting and played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Chattanooga and averaged 10.2 points as a sophomore. My guess though is he wants to get picked up by a possible power 5 and wants to play a lot but it's fun to think about during this tough time and with minimal sports! Foreman, Lofton, Welch/English, Winston, Osun would be very solid. Then a bench of English/Welch, AJ, Shaw, Addaway, Creal, Alpha, Metcalf off the bench. stonybrookathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/makale-foreman/6080

My hope if we do anything at all, is to look at a big, pf or c. Too many unknowns at this point in time. I'm not sure if it's system wide but I saw where a couple of Cal State, not the University of California, schools said they would not have in person classes until the spring. I am still hopeful that are students will be back in the fall and that is safe enough for us to play. We still don't know if the NCAA is going to vote on the immediate play transfer rule, if that were to happen it would likely be within the next couple of weeks. If that tased, that would mean that Anthony Roberts, who has good ball handing skills would be in the immediate picture. Given all the talent we have at guard, I don't see the need to take the last scholarship for a pg. There has been talk of a full basketball season and a compressed, Jan, Reb, March schedule. The profile player that I am picturing may not even be out there. I am thinking, just maybe there is a freshmen big out there who could give us some minutes, but depending on how the early season went, might consider taking the year to get some experience, both in the classroom and with the team in practice. The best I can describe my thoughts are that we could try and land a guy who could give us some physical minutes, but whose game might need some development. That's where I see us going. That might hot happen at all, but I really think coach likes his team. I think the wait and see strategy unless a decommit occurs or a guy like John Orogun, who decided last week to prep for a year, does a Brockington and says I can get better, playing with Shoon and Jalen in practice and improve his game that way.

To much time on my hands...........I think this is a song,
For arguments sake, here we go. I saw in the transfer portal, we're almost at 900 players. Anyway there was a young man, Tyrek Williams, from Troy University. I'm a college and university junkie and I don't know much about Troy, other to say it's in the south. I sometimes click on the name to find out a little bit about the player. Tyrek is 6'8" 260lbs. and he has just finished his first year at Troy, it didn't look like they had a very good year and he saw marginal minutes, less than four a game I think. Well, his size intrigues me, coming out of Troy, he's maybe not on everybody's radar. I looked a little bit further and the intrigue continued....
Prep School: Played at Combine Academy for head coach Lee DeForest … Led his team to a record of 35-13. High School: Played at LC Bird High School for head coach Troy Manns, where his team compiled a record of 85-7 … Team won a Virginia State Championship his junior year …. Scored 30 points against Hargrave Military Academy … Scored 20 points against IMG Academy … Named First Team All-Conference selection his senior year … Named Freshman of the Year.
He's originally from Queens. LC Bird hs, also rings some bells, we've seen some good Richmond and VCU kids come from there.
I would be checking him out further, nothing to lose. Worst case, sits one and then plays for three or plays right away and now we have a big to nullify some of the size we will see in our conference and likewise in better teams outside our conference.

Speaking of Cal State's choice, I am surprised that they made the decision so early. It is only May. Alot can happen in a month or two (hopefully positive news). Even if they waiting till a month from now to make a decision, the schools and students would still have enough time to prepare. Their decision still may be the right one, but I thought it was too early to pull the trigger.

VerbalCommits is reporting that former Coastal Carolina guard KEISHAWN BREWTON is transferring to SUNY Amherst. Did BREWTON not visit BONA during his high school days? Interesting how many players on their roster were also recruited by ST. BONAVENTURE at one point of their recruiting process(GRAVES, WILLIAMS, HARDNETT, MBALLA).

6’5” Andrew Garcia, a grad transfer from Stony Brook, has committed to the University of Georgia. Garcia averaged 13.4 points, 6.7 rebounds & 1.6 steals this season. Immediately eligible for Coach Crean & the #Dawgs 👨🎤 @fruitybandit @_proinsight

I like your thinking 508, and keeping with the transfers from Utah theme , even though he has decommited from Washington State, and now Utah State, I wouldn't mind seeing the staff get involved with 6-10 260 NIGEL JOHN. JOHN signed his LOI with U S, so I don't know if he would have to sit out a year, but if he does, move on.

Nigel John definitely looks like an intriguing player! Do you know why he keeps decommitting from schools? Any new favorites to land him?

Have not seen any updates on NIGEL since he announced he was leaving Utah State. Not sure why he left Washington State, Believe a late transfer or two at Utah State made him think he got recruited over.

Nigel John definitely looks like an intriguing player! Do you know why he keeps decommitting from schools? Nigel stated he de-commited from Washington State, because of a coaching change. Nigel probably feels as Sipo says "Utah State made him think he got recruited over." Nigel announced he was leaving after Utah St. signed a 4 star 6'11" center, which would give them 6 centers. Can't blame Nigel for his decision to de-commit from Washington St. or Utah St. Nigel has received offers from Power 6 schools Kansas St., Pittsburgh and Washington St. He is a 3 star recruit from both Rivals and 247 Sports. Nigel is a big man with a lot of athleticism. Just the type of player Schmidt would use his valuable scholarship in his back pocket. usustatesman.com/usu-adds-polish-center-szymon-zapala-loses-nigel-john/
