Just curious, does anybody actually know what the delay is? We have had great weather this summer, a real missed opportunity. Although I heard memberships are 80 percent of last year's, last Sunday the course did $2,000 then an additional $1,800 Monday. Thought it was supposed to open Memorial Day weekend, now not until the end of this month.

Never heard the expected opening was Memorial Day. However the hold up is the permit for the septic system. There has been much progress this past week. Hopefully the certificate of occupancy can be issued in mid August.

I believe the County Health Dept approves the plan. I would imagine their resources have been concentrated elsewhere given the pandemic and the lack of urgency to approve spaces the public would congregate. Just my honest opinion. Go Bonnies.

Go Bonnies. thank you, sbuwins, for what sounds to me like a plausible explanation...i just wish sometimes in communiques from campus or stories in the oth that there would be a little more depth in the reporting (maybe something like dr jandoli would have demanded way back in the day...the "j" majors from back then could do a better job than me on just what that would have entailed...)

Having a golf membership and playing in four leagues at the Bona golfcourse, the Memorial Day opening rumor has been around since the course opened this Spring. Its understandable with everything going on that there would be some delays, but it is still frustrating. The new clubhouse could have been payed for on my tab by now, but the delay has probably avoided several DWIs for me.

I was up there this Monday the bldg is up and features natural wood look.High netsaround North and West edge of lot supported by telephone like poles Nets protect bldg and lot from errant balls nets are black and barely visible There is a good size cement patio on the east side of the building which gives a view of the vcourse, valley ,hills ,olean in the distance, and the lovely New York and pa. Train yards along constitution The build interior is still open and looks a little like a two bay garage. There is a fireplace / console built into the south side of one of the bays It will end up smaller than the building it replace, but will end up a convenient place to have drinks, snacks ,bar food, and al fresc fresco atmosphere Hope prevention of winter pipe freezing can be prioritized. It might be open before the end of golfing!

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Aramark paid for the new building. They wanted no part of flushing money down the toilet to resuscitate a facility that had MAJOR infrastructure issues. An absolute win-win for the university. Building is beautiful. Patio protected by a pergola offers remarkable view of campus — and drives off 2 tee hitting the parched slope and careening into the rough on the other side of the fairway.

The septic system permit is still tied up at the county health department making our facility leaders and our contractor frustrated. The county is saying lack of manpower due to Covid SBU officials really don’t want to push too much and ruffle feathers. It will only take Dugan two days to install the septic system once approval is obtained. They anticipate a mid September opening subject to a local certificate of occupancy being obtained.
With that said, the building is a major improvement to the clubhouse. When I first heard pavilion, I imagined picnic tables and a roof. The interior is almost complete with finished plumbing and installation of the kitchen appliances remaining. Looking forward to a cold one off the back deck.
