Checking the URI roster it was odd to see Langevine is no longer on it. i thought he was on a long-term contract. 🤨

What time is game? ESPN says 12:05 and gobonnies says 4:00. ?? Also, the URI athletics website also says 4pm. Of course to watch the game we need espn+ to be correct. We should check later.

RI has been an extreme COVID hotbed in recent weeks. Fingers crossed that we get the W and get out of Dodge quickly and safely.

I echo OceanStateBonnie's wishes.
When we played Akron I felt we would not play a team with a deeper bench. I was wrong. URI plays 11. All play more than 11 mins with only FATS playing more than 30 (31 mpg).
After our 11 day layoff we go on the road with only 2 games played while URI has 8 under their belt playing some tough competition (AZ State, Wisconsin, Davidson). Our second half performances (giving up 49 and 46 pts) after controlling the first half indicates our GAME legs are not there.
In spite of one of the Mitchell brothers (6'10 - real good shot blocker & 6'9") always on the court I expect us to win the boards. We have a +5 reb margin to their -3. Our 2 game reb stats would mean little except that we were the #2 rebounding team in the A10 last season. And our same rebounders are back. Early in the season OSUN is #2 rebounder in conference while DOM is #5 on the offensive glass. That said, we often struggle against teams we should handle on the boards.
Against Akron and Hofstra we were a +36 PIP. I don't anticipate that level of success against URI with the Mitchell's inside with always fresh legs. Hopefully we hit our treys like against Hofstra. A repeat first game 1-14 will spell trouble.
Nice to see OSUN's improved game on offense. His 20ppg has him as the conference's #3 scorer. Combining that with 10 rpg has him off to a real good start.
Mental prep for this game is tough with the thoughts in the back of everyone's mind, will we play? A challenge to deal with all season.

It may have been mentioned here, but one of the Mitchell twins is out for the season with an injury. I don't know if that significantly changes anything. They have gotten a boost from Antwan Walker, the grad transfer from Georgetown. I am looking for continued growth from Jalen Shaw, I think we are going to need his minutes to give Shoon a break and off set some fo the Rams big bodies. I think I mentioned this in the around the A10 thread, but Davidson took the approach that would put some passive pressure on Fats beyond the arc, but decided to prohibit Fats to drive and score/pass. That played a big part in keeping the Rams from getting any flow to their offense.
