Didn't Pearl Washington avg. 40 pts a game in HS with our Elmer Anderson avg. 30 pts as his teammate? Actually Pearl averaged just 6 ppg more than his teammate Elmer Anderson. From attached article "By their senior year, Boys was the best basketball show in the city. Pearl was averaging 36 a game and Elmer 30." nypost.com/2016/03/20/the-kind-soul-of-pearl-washington-in-one-hs-story/

Rumpel has indiana state, monmouth, and bing recruiting him. He played and scored against corning, chenango forks, maine-endwell, norwich. Those 40 points a game don't mean much and judging by his videos he is a bit about himself and won't fit into a team first team. Don't think his game translates to the A-10.

RUMPEL is not being recruited by Indiana State, Binghamton and Monmouth. He has OFFERS from them. He is being recruited by Providence, UMass, Siena, VT, UNCW, Bona & 1 other. There are more with interest.
44.5 ppg impresses (53% FGs, 38% TREYS) me even in a low skill league that designed their defenses to stop him. Although Seton Catholic relied heavily on his scoring ability, he combined his scoring punch with a very impressive 4.5 assists a game. Game video in HS and at Albany City Rocks shows his impressive passing skills getting others involved.
Our coaching staff has offered him our first official visit of the year. I trust their assessment that he has the potential to be a contributor in the A10.

If you’re putting up the numbers Rumpel is, two things are probably true: 1 - you’re really good. 2 - your teammates are not.
I recall a recent quote from Schmidt about Welch being a more complete player than he thought he was getting. I would love to see an early commitment from Rumpel as someone who could be similar.

I think you are being overly critical. He dominated his level, and realized to get better offers he needed to improve his competition, thus Spire. Plus playing for the Albany Rocks, excellent competition. So Mark sees something in the kid that you obviously didn't. Mark will make his decision, and hopefully he will become a Bonnie. I liked the video with the Rocks, I think he has a little bit of the pistol in him, we shall see.

Good passer, dribbler, rebounder (off the video). If anything seems more like point guard than big scorer....interesting.

gretchmitch70....Thanks for the Albany City Rocks video. Any thoughts that BRETT is all about himself and not a team player can be dispelled after watching his play against top talent his age.
At Seton Catholic the only way they could win was with him putting up 44.5 pts a game. At City Rocks he is surrounded with talent and you can see his team chemistry as evidenced by his 10 assists.
At Seton he averaged 11+ rebs and in this game he snares 12 while scoring 13 pts. Has a nose for the ball and gets after it.
He does not rely on his trey. Just in the first quarter he got to the stripe for 6 FTs due to his attacking the rim.
Jim Hart was clearly very happy with his performance.
He has an amazing left hand for finishing and passing. Playing inspired D can be seen in this one game. An absolute requirement to play at Bona.
Thanks again for the video which is a far better measure of his talent. Watching him play at Seton he totally dominated weaker players

Plus Duff's teammate Gayle, going to OSU. and who's the guy who was at GWU who I think left after tormenting us a couple of years? That's a pretty good number of D1 players for a region of that size. If you're looking for another Lanier, guys like that just don't come along very often. And wasn't Amandi from Buffalo?

Regarding Duff, if they kid can play, get him. With the size of our other guards, in the A-10 we can get away with a super quick 5’8” point guard who can score. I fear that if Mark stays away from him because of his size, he will end up saying of him what John Cheney said about not recruiting Marques Green - the biggest recruiting mistake of his career.

No , its descriptive of the largest and most comprehensive institution in one of the nations most extensive state university systems. Why people want to denigrate it is beyond me..
