Sipo posted some time ago that..."According to CHUCKIE MAGGIO, combo guard BRETT RUMPEL will be taking an official visit to BONA on June 8-9!"
It appears that this is our first official visit since the pandemic.
Best of luck BRETT!

I don't see his game translating. He's definitely a bit selfish/showboat type of player and his stats are from a not so solid HS league.

That’s a real lazy take. He plays for City Rocks his game has translated there just fine.

Best of Luck to Brett today / tomorrow. The kid is a GYM RAT and will do well where ever he goes. Don't underestimate this kid based on the "level of play" in Section IV. His athleticism is off the charts - and his work ethic / competitive fire is outstanding. He really gets after it on the Defensive end as well. IMO - He is a better talent than Joe G. or Buddy the Bee ... You won't see guys blowing by him on the Top of a Zone / he can man up and would prefer to ...

I don't see his game translating. He's definitely a bit selfish/showboat type of player and his stats are from a not so solid HS league. Come on. High school leagues are virtually meaningless now. High level D-1 schools primarily recruit off AAU and prep school teams. Jim Hart's City Rocks team is one of the premier AAU programs in the country. They have produced numerous D-1 and NBA players. Take a look at what Kevin Huerter is doing right now with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA playoffs. Or Isiah Stewart with the Pistons, both recent City Rocks alumni. Not to mention Jimmer Fredette, Tyler Lydon, Joe Girard, Jalen Pickett, etc etc. And of course our own Dom Welch and Denzel Gregg. If he's good enough to run with the City Rocks #1 team he's obviously good enough to play and excel here. This is a big visit. I hope we can lock him up.

He made alot of nice kick out passes in his highlight film. This is not typical of the AAU World. More give me the ball and I'm going to shoot. I like his court vision when going to the hole. City Rocks are solid.

Is he a 2022 recruit? I see he is mentioned as joining Spire Institute for a prep year like Dom Welch did.
Or is he weighing his options as part of the 2021 class?
Redshirting and playing with this team would be better for player development, I would think, than playing at Spire. But playing at Spire would give him more options for where he would play in 2022.

Good points Pinnum.
Redshirting at Bona would be mutually beneficial and develop his game better than at Spire.
BRETT's decision to go prep was most likely based on his desire to play at a higher level than his 3 offers.
Blue knows AAU well. His comments on BRETT's game is on target.

Just a rumor nothing more. Bonnies trying to get Peter Carey on campus visit along with Rumpel. Smart move if it happens.
