Doesn’t help that multiple managers on the MBB team are not vaccinated. (They’ve publicly and proudly claimed so on social media.) Their refusal to get the vaccine could very well be costing us the opportunity to play these games as scheduled. Hopefully Schmidt gives them an earful. Ugh.. hate to hear that. There’s like 10 of them anyway, maybe they should scale down operations and those non-players costing us games would be a start

As much as a certain poster wants to blame the unvaxxed in Cattaraugus County on the spike, (Personally, I am not against the vaccine) in talking to a Personnel Manager at an Olean business of 100 employees, their frustration is with certain vaccinated employees and the county's DOH. If an employee that is vaccinated but tests positive the DOH tells them to quarrantine for 5 days then return to work. The problem here is some of these employees are still showing symptoms but do not want to use their own sick days or vacation days and are returning to work, unmasked!

I thought that all students had to be Vax'd to attend St. Bonaventure ... Somehow "multiple" managers were able to sidestep that requirement. HMMMMM - Sounds Fishy ... That being said - I still see where many posters STILL do not understand that vaccinated people can still GET IT and SPREAD IT. This VIRUS is not political - it does not care if you were VAX'd or not. The VAX merely helps reduce the symptoms if and WHEN you get it (As well as natural immunity gained thru having had the virus already). Going forward Therapeutics is the answer my friends. Sooner or later we are all going to get it. We need to stop letting this issue divide us as a nation.

Everyone knows the vaccine isn't 100%. Literally everyone.

Teetering on a really bad situation here, from a basketball standpoint of course, if the games don't get made up then the resume isn't strong for an at-large.
IF the games do get made up then we will see a brutal stretch with multiple 3 game weeks against quality league opponents ....

Agreed - only way I see making up the games already PPD, and assuming others will be at some point, are probably looking at some Friday/Sunday game weekends with so many Friday night games. Don't see any other way to make up the full slate of games. Perhaps a SLU back to back - at SLU on 2/11, RC make-up on 2/13. Who know's what they'll do.

According to A10 this is again due to SBU cases. As I've noted, on campus as a whole, there have been 26 cases in past week, two-thirds of them students, and half not "recovered." What? Students have not been on campus for weeks! Who are these students with the China virus? By the way, natural immunity provides the best protection against the virus, not the artificial vaccines. An Israeli study indicates twenty times more protection from natural immunity as opposed to artificial vaccines. Vaccines only mitigate the effects of virus, they do not immunize you against it.

This will be in the end, a severely truncated season. These cases will continue to crop up in many colleges, so stay tuned for an expanded Big Dance field in March.......let the speculation begin!

So, for what it's worth, played golf yesterday with a friend who has had all three shots, the booster and Covid TWICE. C-mon people - we all know that if we'd let this thing run its course it would have been over a year ago and none of this crap would be happening (except perhaps a second season of Omicron/flu). Blaming the unvaxxed doesn't hold water any more. The vaxx is good for some but worthless for others and the oversell is fearmongering at its best.
Shame on Bona's for falling into this trap. Good on Bona's for doing everything possible to protect the students. So, you see no one is wrong and no one is right. It's just an unfortunate crappy situation all around.

So I googled this player, and what an interesting background. Recruited by the P5 for Football - and he only played 8 man football in Kansas. Definitely a diamond in the rough - the kind of player Schmidt and his staff are great in finding. If he was at Bonas, we would all be making Big Bob comparisons.

The problem here is some of these employees are still showing symptoms but do not want to use their own sick days or vacation days and are returning to work, unmasked! Precisely. We know that vaccinated can test positive and shed the virus, BUT are far less likely to develop strong symptoms or require hospitalization, hence why you get the shot and booster. Issue is so many vaccinated don't believe they need to wear masks anymore, and when you have a large population that is unvaccinated, it's a recipe for disaster. If Catt County, NYS and the US had a much higher vaccination rate, then we could ditch the masks, but unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen so masks will be here for a while. It's the same reason why SBU required vaccines to attend home games. Students and fans alike refuse to wear masks, so Bona can't be host to a potential super spread event in the RC during the speak of Omicron. Hopefully Bona comes to its senses and requires masks for games, too.
