don't forget DAVIDSON as a rival. there have been some real barn burners with them over the past 10 years.

Fair weather fans; some faculty with no interest/understanding of athletics; overreaching administrative types; and the overarching stench of P6 bias

For those looking at a globe, Res point is a good one. VCU is actually in Richmond, not DC. It is a State School, with a cross town rival of Richmond, which is a rich kid school - so they have their own rivalry due to alot of reasons. So who are our A10 rivals? Great question, with a lot of great comments already. Duq was, but that was for most people more than 50 years ago. Temple was a great rivalry, including with their coach, but they left. St. Joe's was because we hated their Coach (until he supported us), VCU maybe because of one big ending to a game - but I think the biggest rivalry in our league is Davidson. Similar size private schools, similar long term coaches, but well coached teams, always seem to be a battle with them.
Being a grad from the late 70s/early 80s, it was always NU, CC and Syracuse. But those rivalries mean more to us older alumni than anybody else probably in the last 25 years. So my final vote - NCAA overall for always screwing with the small schools, and Davidson within our league.

St. Bonaventure vs. Saint Joseph's (PA) = "The Holy War"
to me that's no.1

I think Duquesne has a level of mutual animosity that does not seem to be present in the Davidson or VCU games. Those games are highly competitive, but have a different feel than the Bonaventure-Duquesne games.

Fair weather fans; some faculty with no interest/understanding of athletics; overreaching administrative types; and the overarching stench of P6 bias You hit that one right on the mark. As a fan before, during and after the Chapman/DiCarli meltdown years I could not agree more. Some folks still don't get it.......we are 9 - 3 not 3- 9, and 1 -0 in conference. Give us a break please.
