Hopefully the local Huskies group attempting to purchase the building and grounds will be successful and return the building to use by Walsh and the Catholic academy of Olean..........this issue should have been resolved months ago but was delayed un-necessarily by the creditors committee, which is really a group of anti Catholic zealots....... Currently Walsh and the elementary school are re-located to St. John's on North Union Street, in their former school building and gym..........not a bad option at all, but its still not old Walsh....

The problem is what is the current enrollment... ? A large building is excessive!

BTW - Walsh High School does not exist in person. It is my understanding any high school student was offered a “virtual” concept. I believe there were no takers. The school has a Montessori Concept and grades K - 8.

The school has a Montessori Concept and grades K - 8. So what is the plan here? In order words Walsh HS is a state of suspension until the Walsh campus can be reacquired from the Diocese through the US bankruptcy court? Is that the game plan? This is very disturbing, and while its great that the K - 8 program has been preserved at the St. John's campus, the news about Walsh is just so disturbing for those very interested in preserving Catholic education in Southern Tier. How can SBU alumni assist in this effort? Please let us know!!

Excellent news here.....Palladino has been a huge supporter of SBU since his graduation in '68. He has also been very generous to Buffalo's Franciscan OFM High School....Bishop Timon. This all good for the Olean Catholic community and for Catholic education.....Thank you Carl!!!
